The Nexus servers were reset with the following changes:

Chaos in Vale

Tonight a fierce battle ensued in Vale between the Syndicate 7 (Led by Aens) and the Drightens (Led by Sunkara). The Syndicate 7 was able to rally up outside support from the community to back their forces as they assaulted the Drighten Camp, which was looking to raid a S7 outpost in Vale.
This whole affair came about when Caera reportedly stole information from the S7 regarding an upcoming operation crucial to the S7’s goals. Caera passed the information on to Sunkara before being captured by the S7 members. As the Alpha male, Sunkara decided to use the Drighten Pack to hinder the operations of the S7. He gathered his forces in an Encampment in Vale. S7 scouts found their location and Aens rallied the support of the unknowing community to mount an assault on the camp.
-For the time, everyone had the ability to see ghosts in vale and there was resurrection available with out going to a shrine.-

Being overwhelmed by the Syndicate enforcements, the
Drightens resorted to alli's from afar.
The fear that SuNKaRA had for the safety of his people boiled slowly into an overpowering rage, spilling out into the ground soaking it with the putrid stentch of a massacre, and blackening the skies with the ancient rage of the Drightens.
Following the battles, those involved posted words on the Chronicles of the Winds
I'm sure this is not that last we have heard from the two organizations.

Mug shows his Home
|
 For the daily East Gate Kugnae people who sit and talk about different subjects in the fine Kingdom of the Winds, today was slightly different evening. All of a sudden, a greenish Mug appeared from the sky and started playing around with citizens! He brought in a Fireworks show and chated with people, but what was the big hit of the night was being invited to enter his new home, down the Earth in the core center of Koguryo.  Fireworks show in east Kugnae.Barricades mysteriously popped up from the soil of East Gate and they lead to the place filled with lava and dark ground. People who were unfortunate and got there a second too late missed quite of a good time there: The host himself! Mug was kind enough to answer some questions for us which included: What about this new Carnage event?To which Mug explained it will be something different from Riches, Bloodlust, and Elixir wars. The main change will not just be new rooms! What’s with the Sa san trails?Mug then states, or warns, that the Sa san trials will be much harder than the previous levels. What else do you have in store for us?He then spoke about the creation of a RP (role-play) town where people will be forced to role-play there or will be removed.  Mug abandoned his nice grass garden to a stone dark place with a throne in there just for him. Mug would answer the questions of those who politely raised their hands.It was quite a pleasant night in Koguryo, the Nexus community is thankful and can't wait to see the many good new things being released. =-=-=-=- And for those who didn't get to know me, I'm Kikoura, one of the new Nexus Atlas reporters. New Monk Elder!

Tonight Long time Monk Elder Berig has stepped down. He who has been leading them since Yuri 68, has done several endeavors to his path over this 27 yuris and hyuls he has been there. His sucessor picked was LiShen who has been selected to in hopes continue broadcasting the strong traditions of the Monk Sub-Path.
 
Nexus Atlas would like to Thank you Berig for all the hard work you have done within nexus and outside.
Congratulations to Elder LiShen and good luck in all your endeavors.

Winter storms are over

Winter snow is over. The grass glows the beautiful green once again. The snow from the top of the buildings is gone too and the kingdom of winds return to normal after many moons of that snow storm, the longest one in nexus history.
With the green grass appearing again, citizens can now notice a grown unique flower from the redsoil just in front of the Tree of Reflections. A pretty flower indeed, just as beautiful as what it represents.
With the reset there was also introduced quite a few things. Here's the resume posted by GM Mug in dreamweavers board:
A new board "Shunnyo Spirits" has been introduced to thank those who have given to the ISmileHere foundation.The new board can be found in East gate Kugnae, East gate Buya and North gate Nagnang.

* Sun Moon should now have the updated things from last week that didn't load.

Mug posted the following message on the scum board today:
KRU Interactive, Inc. issued bans on 14 accounts today for various illegal activities. We will not publish player names because that is a violation of customer privacy. Bans range from 1 week to permanent. Illegal activity will be punished! Before anything else, thank you to Mug and anyone else at Kru interactive who had a hand in this!
It's great that they're doing something about the problems in the game and that they're letting everyone know what will happen if you break the rules. However, I don't see why he can't post the names of the characters and their crimes. There seem to be many players saying the same thing.
There are hundreds of posts on the Scum board with a name listed along with a crime. Past GMs were willing to share their names. And, as MadonnaIII mentioned on the Random Thoughts board, there is no legal issue since Kru's user agreement states that they have full ownership over our characters.

Citizens Against Violence

On February 3rd, the organization, C.A.V. (Citizens Against Violence) will be hosting a fundraiser event for the Ismilehere Fund. Festivities will start at 9:00am PST in Yuri's Flower Garden inside booths. The events include: Royal Reading Competition hosted by the Koguryo Ministry along with the announcement of Poetry Revel winner's by Archon Poems, C.A.V. benefit concert with a "Muse Cabaret" and other performers, SunMoon's "Rolling Races", Kurijma Clan's "Shadow Games", Lost Kingdom Clan's "Prize Walk", Merchant Sub-path's "Casino", raffle and an auction, and "ENFL Football" hosted by the circle, Elementals. There will also be many other events hosted by: C.A.V., Buya Ministry, Nagnang Ministry, Oceana Clan, Geomancer Sub-path, and others!
To ensure that all donations will be made securely, there will be a Messenger NPC available near the gateway of Yuri's Flower Garden for those in the community interested in sending donated items or checks to Ismilehere for the cause. There will also be a guest appearance made by Ismilehere himself! All proceedings made during the Fundraiser will be donated to the Ismilehere cause.
Those interested in signing up to help during the Fundraiser are urged to contact, C.A.V. Founder, Tristah for details.

New LK Primogen

Today the primogen of the Lost Kingdom Clan Bellatiamo, has stepped down from her duties. In her place she has left Warik, who has been primogen twice before, to lead the clan for many moons ahead.
Congratulations to Warik and a big thanks to Bellatiamo for her great dedication and hard work as Primogen.

A new star in the sky

People might not have noticed, but there have been a new shining star in the sky during the nights of the Kingdom of Winds. A star so bright that enchants anyone who looks at it and so beautiful that looks like a little piece of diamond attached above. Differently from the Wisdom star that when comes represents extra experience, this star stays there every night and represents compassion, politeness and knowledge.
To those who would wish to view this star, it can be seen from all over Nexus, but surely the best place to see it shining is from under Tree of Reflections. That because the bond between this star and the tree is so strong that even after life it will continue existing as if they were part of just one being.
What we didn’t notice was that the almighty Tree of Reflections took a long while to grow up again after Yieta’s attack and while all other trees were already grown back, this tree, the most special one wasn’t. It is because it was with sorrow. The tree was crying a terrible loss we humans wouldn’t imagine.
Nexus has lost a very special person, a symbol of charity, compassion, love and wisdom. A woman so special that no one in nexus would ever dare to say they didn’t like her, as she clearly had a pure soul. It is a soul so clear and harmless that inspired many in these lands and will continue inspiring them for as long as the winds keep blowing her name.
For those who didn’t know, the Tree of Reflections was named that way after a poem written by her and as a symbol of poetry, she who was one of the very first hosts of Poetry Revels deserves nonetheless a poem in her memories:
The flowers bloom even more pretty
when this legs would cross the city
who couldn’t notice that hair
so unique as her outwear
Peace would shine upon her path
as she walked earth would laugh
all because she had her way
to make everyone have a better day
((Although a year late, Nexus Atlas would like to pay homage to a community member so special that should always be remembered. December 2006 was the last time we saw Leodaris in these lands, since then no one knew what had happened to her. Now we have received the sad news of her passing away, although people closer to her could have imagined what happened to her, there was still hope she would win the fight against the tumor. I know it is not too much to ask that we all take some time from our busy lives and dedicate a prayer to a person who has helped make Nexus such a great game.)) Two New Judges

Just now, it was announced by Head Judge Teragg the addition of two new judge to the lands of nexus. They who have been training for several weeks, finally finished the JIT process and can now call considered full judges. From now on, they can be contacted for any crime you witness or anytime you need help from justice department.
Nexus Atlas congratulates Judge Living and Judge Yoshiku on their achievements and wishes them good luck with their new duties.

There was a reset at 4pm est today. the following information was posted about the reset on the Dream Weavers board by Mug.
The Nexus servers were reset with the following changes:
All merchants should be working again.
Clan, Army & Ministry additions and fixes:
* Minor update for Pegasus and Varg now buys back Well crafted ambers and Well cftd dk amber.
* Lowered price on Ministry scrolls
* Minor update for Enigma
Subpath additions and fixes:
* Minor fix for Druid and new flower given to spawn.
Druids can bloom Pink mugunghwa now. 
* Minor update for Monk
* Minor update for Merchant
The Merchants have received a new dye. It's available only for Merchants and Allies to Merchant Guild.
Other:
Carnage staff now has their own chat to contact each other.
To talk using it, type the command /host.
Minor updates for large addition
Minor updates for Carnage event
Minor fix so players don't get removed from Tangun before their time.
Tutors received summons in Tangun to help new players.
Tutors can approach/summon novices in Tangun without them having to group the young ones. Great way to help those who are starting.

Some of you may have noticed that links to older articles on "Past News" have disappeared. I've put those links in the "Archive News" section. I don't know why Coranto "forgets" about older news which seems to happen every two years. I am trying to find a solution to this problem but there is no support this free software. Please remember that everything on this site is indexed and you can use the search feature to find things. None of the news is lost, you'll just have to look in a different place for some of it.

Broke the Seal Of Nngh'Zan

This quest has been fully updated and new information that has been documented by Nexus Atlas has been included. Players working on this quest should take the time to review the steps and other information before entering the boss room.
We have learned that more than one group (12 or less people) cannot enter the room. If you are dead when Nngh'Zan dies then you will NOT receive the legend mark. It is NOT a bug if you are dead and don't get the legend mark. There is a two hour time limit to kill all 5 seals and the boss. If you kill the boss after this time limit, you will not receive the legend mark. If you stay in the room after you finish, the boss will not respawn and no other group can enter; you will eventually be kicked out of the room.

Kru's Appearance

At tonight's Carnage kru made an appearance with what appears to be a new skin color and hair due. Once he figures how to work with the artifacts he will be able to release the skin feature so we may change the color of our skin, but as of now it is not in motion.
In addition, kru went ahead and disclosed information about Sa san to those present at the carnage. He said that the quests for Sa san are mostly complete but there is still no estimate on when it will be released. He mentioned that the quests will be similar to those of the other San marks but just "more boring stuff" and mentioned that having your Wind Armor will be needed and that if you don't have one, to go get it. The final piece of information mentioned is the Nagnang Woodlands Diary Page quest was complete and players can complete it at any time. At this time no one has completed the quest and no walkthrough is available.

We may have a brief interruption of service, the following notification was received from our web host:
Your domain will be moved to a new server Tuesday, January 15, 2008 for hardware upgrades. We will start the migration process at approximately 6pm PST. We suggest no significant changes be made to your site during the transfer. There will be an approximate 30 minute window after we do the last data synchronization between the servers where databases will not convert data to the new server. Unfortunately we do not have advance knowledge of the exact time of when this window will occur as it is dependent on numerous factors; however, we are estimating this will be at approximately 5am PST January 16, 2008.

Server Reset

About a minute ago the Nexus servers were reset bringing quite a few changes. The first and most noticeable of them is a big changing in the TK Boards. There's now a new board in bulletin bellow Scum board called Rambling thoughts. According to Mug it is to be used to post about anything people wish to post about, of course respecting Nexus Laws. In other hands, Community board has changed a lot and from now on it will accept only information about help and such. This means silly discussions and accusations should go to the new board and leave Community board clear for people who want to help each other.
Mug also has posted on Dream Weavers board about what is new with the reset and the changes are quite interesting based on what is written in it. Check the bottom of it and see what is waiting for us in the year of 2008:

It is the first time Sa san has been officially mentioned to be on works in boards. Priorly people has only heard about it by Mug saging in game, but now it's there for everyone to see in Dream Weavers board. There is also a mention for a large addition, people have been trying to guess what it could be, but so far no official mention about it. What surprise could this large addition hold to Nexus lands? Only time will tell.

Public Service Announcement - Donations

Members Tristah (founder), and Lethey of the organization, "C.A.V." (Citizens Against Violence) have been collecting donations for the new charity, "Ismilehere" to help compensate those who have fell victim to crime.
 So far both Efren and Sandpaper have both donated over 1 million gold both in items and gold coins to help the cause and many more citizens and organizations have displayed support. A National "Ismilehere" Fund Raiser is currently being planned to be held at Yuri's Garden near the Kugnae Palace. The to-be-announced day will be filled with festivities, a raffle, a concert, poetry reading, games, casino, and much more to look forward to. All proceedings made from the fund raiser will be donated to the cause. In essence, the purpose of the National Fund Raiser will be to spread awareness, to promote peace, and to spread the message that crime is not tolerated. If you are interested in supporting, donating, or offering a helping hand for the cause, please contact Tristah or Lethey. Justice for the people

A very useful new service is being provided by justice department in conjunction with Immortals overview: a fund which will help reimburse crime victims. It is called ISmilehere a fund raising character created to store donations from community members to help those who were really harmed by criminals in game.
As it is overviewed by Immortals, people can be sure that no item or money will ever leave such banks unless it is for the real purpose it was created for. People can donate via parcel or will announce publically when it will be receiving aid in a specific place.
Another interesting change in Justice department that was recently announced by Head Judge Teragg was the opening of cases to observers. A new free service with strict rules is open now to allow people to watch random cases being dealt by judges. With the system of observers available people can candidate to go watch a random case when it is announced via sage and must remain in justice court without interefering in the results of it. The purpose is simple, to allow people to watch how cases are handled and therefore it will clear up many confusions and accusations of people that would have no idea of what goes behind those doors. It is worth mentioning that this only goes for the trials taken by judges from justice boards. When a judge catch a criminal on act he/she will proceed with the jailing normally without having to call for observers obviously. The same goes for crimes caught by Archons, as they only jail upon seeing the crime happening, there will be no case of observing archon's trials as they do not work with that.
These two new options brought by justice department surely will double their work, but serves to show that their purpose is to work for the community own good. Hopefully now before opening silly mouths to talk bad of judges, people will take sometime to go watch their work before opining of things they don't know.

Koguryo Defender Ceremony

Hyul 13, 2nd Moon, 19th Sun citizens gather in the Royal Coliseum inside the Kugnae Palace where King MuHyul and Royal Minister Gilley present the Koguryo Defender Ceremony.
The Ceremony started with Royal Court Muse Loxie, singing a song respectively themed for the ceremony. Royal Minister Gilley then welcomed all guests with a heart warm speech, then asked Royal Cleric AerynSun to bless the ceremony.
King MuHyul then presided over the ceremony and blessed the following citizens of Koguryo.
Bear Clan: Jumbo, Nycz and LadyinWaitin
Destiny Clan: Cerixis and Timishu
Enigma Clan: Diva and Beilek
Oceana Clan: CrypticSword and Tristah
SunMoon Sect: PlagueS, Vernon and Vitabrevis
Tiger Clan: Ordos, MagickBliss and RCMP
Koguryo Royal Army: Rammstein and Enchantress
Royal Ministry of Koguryo: Loxie and Snoop
After the defenders were blessed, King MuHyul surprised Royal Minister Gilley with a gift and had Primogen khaos present the Minister with an engraved flute ~+~Treasured Minister~+~, on behalf of the Clans and Ministry of Koguryo.
Then Royal Minister Gilley surprised King MuHyul with an engraved sword, ** *-*Solidarity*-* **, on behalf of the Clans and Ministry of Koguryo.
Royal Minister Gilley continued the ceremony by announcing 4 citizens who completed the Deeds of Citizenship Quest.
AerynSun, Diva, Silvur and Tristah.
Royal Scribe Tristah then shared her thoughts and also wrote a poem to share, titled "An Ode to Koguryo" to end the celebration.

Article - Community must help punish cheaters

The year of 2008 has started bringing back one of the longest discussions in the lands of Nexus: The punishment for those who break the terms of agreement. Different from the in-game laws which are written by archons and mostly overviewed by judges, the terms of agreement were written by Nexon and re-done by KRU Inc. In order to be able to play Nexus TK all players are required to read it and follow the agreement properly, yet recently cases of breaking it have become more often noticed by people.
Of course, that certain view is only by the eyes of the players, the company surely has more accurate information about these breaches, as they’re the ones most interested in stopping this. The problem is that people aren’t seeing or hearing much about the punishment and this creates a negative image that nothing is being done.
As a former Head Judge, I can assure people that from in-game justice point of view there’s not much that can be done. Judges nor archons can do much more than jailing people and that obviously isn’t enough of punishment to those who cheat nexus with 3rd party programs. This discussion was brought back to tone when a convicted person using an auto-hunting program was jailed by an archon and community felt it would be left just as that.
First and foremost I must explain that this is a normal procedure for justice system to penalize the player in game while the case is taken to the company. When the case is submitted to KRU, the verdict is no longer in hands of judges or archons anymore; it will depend on the company’s decision to resolve the fate of the player. The problem they surely encounter is the fact that by banning an account they’ll end up losing money from it. How can a law work if by punishing their players it will represent losing a large amount of money, necessary for their own survival? That is not a question anyone should dare to answer as none of us know for real what goes behind the walls of KRU Interactive, but we sure know how must be difficult to take such decision.
Many players just go wild saying they should be banned, but more and more we’re seeing this isn’t the solution. Banned players do come back with new IPs or ISPs and or find even worse ways to keep playing. Surely KRU could try to sue some of them in real life, but while then most minor “criminals” would remain unpunished. Yet, Nexus has showed other ways to do it, people have seen players being reset to level 1 for doing much smaller offenses, and there was also the time when Wony would post on Scum board himself about banned people and truly, the only people who should be considered scum are such people, the normal jailed people don't harm nexus as much as these people do.
Because of this, the Nexus Atlas staff decided to bring this to first page news hoping this will enlighten players that the situation KRU faces here isn’t easy, but instead of blindly criticizing them, we could all discuss this in normal manners and suggest possible solutions on how to help KRU eradicate this menace. They’re quite aware of the problem such players who use 3rd party programs to cheat nexus can cause and surely are the ones most interested in finishing. Instead of just complaining, let’s try to understand their side and offer solutions, because we all know that something MUST be done, the situation can no longer continue like this.
Nexus Atlas will not take a position of officially suggesting changes, staff members are obviously free to give their personal opinions in Nexus Forums although. Yet, the Atlas does warn every single player one thing: ALL third party programs created to cheat nexus are NOT safe and most likely all hid key loggers inside it. The usage of such programs is proven to be the main source of hacking in Nexus, so be wise and keep safe. The people who lose their time to create such programs and share it for free surely want something in return, and it is well known what it is: your password. So keep safe, play simple Nexus was created for everyone to enjoy it.

On Saturday January 5, 2008 at 10:00 pm EST King MuHyul and theRoyal Ministry of Koguryo will be holding the Koguryo Defender Ceremony, in the Royal Coliseum. Nominated citizens of Koguryo will "Pledge to Defend Koguryo" and be blessed with the Sea Nymph dye.

I believe that Conranto has a limit for the amount of news it can handle. The last time this happened we didn't catch in time and had to create a separate archive section for the past news.
