Nangen Defender Ceremony
Posted by: LordAchoo -- 5:41 PM EST

Today there was a grand ceremony held inside the Nangen army barracks to honor the defenders of Nagnang. Sadly the ceremony was a private one so the public was not invited to see the new Defenders of Nagnang being honored.

Those honored in the ceremony: LordDryn, Earl, DarkShade and Drywater.

Congratulations to the new defenders of Nagnang.

Special thanks to Prince Kija and General JadedSkies for letting me attend the ceremony and Nayuki for the great picture.

'Trick or Treat' has returned to the Nexus for yet another year of fun!

Just say 'Trick or Treat' to any of the warp NPCs (Such as Ox in Walsuk's tavern) at the Inn.

If any new items or features are found, we'll be sure to keep you all informed!

Happy Halloween from the NexusAtlas staff!

Trick or Treat
Posted by: Vini -- 7:22 PM EST

As the Halloween approaches, we may expect that this reset going now is either going to add those anual halloween fun in nexus or a brand new event, or better: both!

In Nexus TK official website, there's a post by the same title as this one, but it only says 'Happy Halloween!'.

Keep your eyes here on nexus atlas to be sure when nexus is back up running and check out the new stuff there!

Strange whispers, strange dreams
Posted by: Vini -- 11:29 AM EST

For the past few days, many people have been receving strange whispers which sounded like warnings. A person by the name of Kyushin has been whispering people some random quotes, but seems to not respond what they ask.

Quite a few people have been reporting their experiences with him in the Chronicles of the Winds board.
Here are some of the things she/he has been whispering:
What is that reflection in the lake? Is it the moon?! The moon falls...
The only light is from the burning cities.
Imagine ... a night without the moon.
Imagine a world without the three kingdoms!

Due some recent hoax by people who were trying to take advantage of this mysterious whispers, we've had to wait until we had confirmation that this Kyushin whispers were not hoax too.
Finally, a screenshot confirmed a blue sage done by Kyushin:
Why does no one listen to me?!

Prince Mhul of Koguryo may also have received contact from Kyushin, seems he had a strange dream that involves pretty much what this mysterious whispers have been saying:

I awoke last night from a dream, which could be a warning of pending doom, but then again it could be all the rich food I partook just prior to retiring for the night.

When I awoke in a cold sweat the dream was quickly fading from my mind but I do remember the strange silhouettes in a mist making some references to the moon.

With this strange dream still somewhat fresh in mind, I call upon the Royal Diviner Tiona for a reading. I would also like the community to keep alert and be cautious of strange messages any might receive.

All hail King Yuri!
Long live Koguryo!

Thank you for your support,
M'hul
Prince of Koguryo

Seems that the warnings are getting clearer day by day. Although many people have hear whispers from Kyushin no one have reported seeing this person. If anyone got a screenshot of how Kyushin looks like please email it to one of us in Nexus Atlas.

November 1st Event
Posted by: TSWolf -- 7:29 AM EST

Some months ago we gave you a teaser of an event that was occuring sometime in November. This event will be occuring on November 1st. Final preparations are in order for that date, but most of the "RP" end of it has been cancelled. Chances are itll be later in the day, so that alot more people can participate.

Within the next few days I'll be delogating, based on my decisions (Don't ask) people to assist me in giving out all the stuff we plan to. Mailing, Messaging, nothing will change our decisions. We may randomly toss a bunch of stuff but for the most part we will be handing it out based on decisions made beforehand.

I'll post a short com post on everything on November 1st, and hopefully everything will run smoothly so we can finish that day.. If not, it will continue the following day(s).

Hope to see some old, new faces in the kingdom this day. Will be nice to get some final closure on things =)

Once again, regardless of the outcome of this event, Nexus Atlas, NexusForums and NexusIRC will all still continue to run. We have a full staff of talented people working very hard for you. If I'm able to provide time once again, I hope to provide some of the projects I didn't do in the past. I will continue to run the technical aspects and such of everything, and will be kept up to date by the staff concerning things.

Personal Safety
Posted by: Vini -- 12:55 AM EST

Despite the daily posting of Archons about tips to keep characters safe, quite a few people ignore their advices and try venturing the so called hacking packets.

What people seem to forget is that one of the first things explained about Nexus is that there is no way to cheat on it. Basically everyone who use these cheat/hack utilities usually end up banned or even may be hacked themselves.

To avoid getting more players falling for that trick that some plant on their minds, Wony has put his words out about this matter on the DreamWeaver board:

Dear citizens of Nexus.

There have been posts about Nexus hack/cheat utilities that you can download from certain web sites. These are not cheat utilities but they are actually keyloggers. These are quite dangerous spyware. What they do is silently reside on your PC, and send out all the keystrokes that you type to hackers. If you think about what you type on your PC, such as account ID, character ID, password, credit card information, chatting, you can easily see how dangerous these programs can be. If you have these in your PC, hackers can actually access your email, and can even see the support email conversation between you and our Nexon staff. Many times these are not detected/cured by virus scanners, and the only cure might be to wipe and reinstall your Windows.

If you get hacked by these spywares, basically you got hacked by trying to hack others, and it will be very difficult to get sympathy from Nexus staff or other people in Nexus. You are as guilty, and it demonstrates some other characteristics of your personality, which I will not go into detail.

Please don't even think about downloading and running the programs you don't know. It not only jeopardizes your life in Nexus, but it can greatly damage your RL as well. And, yes, you will be punished in Nexus for such attempts. Please take care of yourself in Nexus and in RL.

Wony

Hopefully people will take this more seriously seeing that even Wony cares about the big problems that such downloads can do for the users of these programs. The GMs are watching these things closely now.

Ability to Read Nexus Boards Online
Posted by: Spift -- 2:48 PM EST

I received an email from someone on the outgoing Eldridge Team letting me know that one of the projects they had completed, but didn't get to release before they left the game was an ability to read Nexus boards online.

The web address is: http://boards.nexustk.com

This is as far as the project will go. You cannot read your nmail online, you cannot read clan or subpath boards online, you cannot post online. This is simply a way to read the boards that are on that list from the web and nothing else.

Enjoy the boards.

The Scrambler?
Posted by: Sailortaurus -- 6:36 PM EST

Strange creature entertains crowd in Kugnae

The mysterious Scrambler entices an audience to play his game.

KUGNAE -- At the east gate of the city of Kugnae in the Kingdom of Koguryo this evening, a mysterious creature appeared. Known only as the Scrambler, clad in an archon-orange cloak with unkempt, blue hair, he spoke to an assembled audience, inviting them to unscramble a seemingly-random string of letters and arrange them into a coherent word. The one who answered the Scrambler correctly would receive an acknowledgement, "Great going," stating the correct answer, and sometimes a sum of coin in remuneration.

At about 8:30 p.m., EST, the Scrambler bid the citizens farewell, saying, "That's all I have time for today," and vanished. He was later sighted at the north gate of Buya and the centre of Mythic Nexus.

Downtime alllll fixed.
Posted by: TSWolf -- 5:21 PM EST

I apologize for the downtime the last couple days. Apparently there was an internal error on one of the servers. Some people were able to get in to SOME areas, some people (including me) were completely locked out of stuff... Media files were accessible (like pictures could be directly linked and work fine), it just seemed to be an internal problem with the server... despite some rather odd rumors of us being hacked =).

If yer ever curious about the server going down, its best to ask the staff. They are usually informed by me of whats been going on.. This instance wasn't fixed immediately because our server administer has been pretty busy as of late and I finally got him on the phone to talk about it just today.

But all is well and all is done. Enjoy =P

-- One final note.. Just because of some "events" that have been occuring with me as of late doesn't mean NA and NF will be gone. We have sat for a long time considering removing it, but I feel it's well used and provides a noble service to the community. So for the time being, they won't be going anywhere to fast.

Primogen FireTiger has Pledged on Yuri 69, to defend the Kingdom of Koguryo and been graced with the lovely blue dye of defenders.

Congratulations FireTiger!

Event Status
Posted by: Rachel -- 2:38 PM EST

Rumors were circulating that either past or current Nexon staff had said that the event would be canceled, so I sent in a ticket using the new support system. This was the response that was sent to me:

Due to the change in staff the event may suffer delays. However, the event will be completed

Nexon Inc.

I do not know anything more about possible delays at this time, but I suggest that if you wish to participate in the event, you should complete everything to the last possible point. My assumption is that it may take at least a few weeks before we see any new developments.

Ritzy came, Ritzy gone -- Say Hello to Wm
Posted by: Vini -- 8:19 PM EST

A few days ago, people started noticing that a strange character names Shikari Ritzy. No one was really sure about who this person was, was just obvious that someone born in Yuri 69, with no mark could not have become Sam san so quickly.

After a harsh post against Nexon in the community board it became clear that it was not an official Nexon Character, like when Johaih got to the Top of power list as well.

Just now, Ritzy was banned from Nexus as we experienced the first scum post listing banning, by Wm, here's what was posted there:

impersonating a customer character,
permanently banned, AKA CheChe.

WM

Ritzy was removed from the Power List in Users list and people shall no longer worry about him.

The question now is: Who is Wm?
No need to worry, Wony was fast clear it up on DreamWeaver board. He is an old friend of him, helped to build the Kingdom of Winds and we can all trust him.

Thanks to InvisDragon for informing of the post in scum board.

It sure is good to be back home.
Posting here again brings all the good memories
all of us had together many MANY moons ago.

It's been a long journey, and it will continue.
We will together be weaving stories, legends,
and dreams for the days, years to come.
You are in good hands, most caring hands. in Nexus.

Ever so grateful,

Seems Wony will be taking over for now?
More to be posted as news arrives.

And Nexus goes on
Posted by: Vini -- 1:10 AM EST

It's sad news to hear about the leave of Delphis, Eldridge, Cerulean and Kevin. I'm sure they will be truely missed and each of them will be forever appreciated for their many many hours of work they've done for Nexus TK.

However, as Cerulean himself posted on community board, the game will continue running, it will not be shut down. No one need to panic, no one need to leave because of this. Changes in the staff doesn't necessary mean it will become worse, it will just be a bit different.

Unfortunally as Conro already stated, it's not a hoax, it truely happened, Cerulean has saged his final words, I've talked with him myself and he confirmed to me that he was truely not hacked. Archons also posted on community confirming the happening. None of the archons will be leaving so for the moment we rely directly on them right now.

As Head Judge Tip posted, the laws of Nexus will continue being enforced, do not abuse them, the judges and archons will continue working normally as will every subpath, clan and carnages.

In the next few days we'll surely hear from Nexon what changes we'll get from now on but if it serves as confort, Wony has been seen walking around and people have been saying that he'll be running the Nexus from now on, so we are not GM-less.

For now, let's just keep united and playing with joy, it's the community that makes this game so alive, it's the community together that will make it pass by through this hard time.

More information will be posted as soon as we here more from Nexon, for now, there's no need to worry, nexus won't be shut off.

A Special thanks to Eldridge, Cerulean, Kevin and the Delphi's team; you people will truely be missed by us, we owe you a lot, will never be forgotten.

For us who stay, have faith, things will get better soon.

Not a hoax
Posted by: Conro -- 11:34 PM EST

Confirmation on this matter...

"Hello, you have reached (408-988-6770) phone support for acount and billing issues no longer exist, I suggest you try the main line at (408-988-7571)."

NexusTK staff 'let go'?
Posted by: Conro -- 10:20 PM EST

As posted on DreamWeaver.

Good evening,

Today (13th of October, 2004) Nexon has undergone a restructuring of its staff. During this restructuring it has been decided that myself, the Delphi's, Cerulean, and Kevin the account manger will no longer be a part of the Nexon team.

It has been a great pleasure to have spent the last 4 years working on Nexus, and working to provide you with the best game experience we could under the circumstances we had to work under.

I do not know about Nexon's plans for Nexus, who will be providing support, quest/event development, or account support. I am sure that somebody from Nexon will post in the coming days about these changes, and how these things will be handled.

Again, I thank you for the last 4 years, and all it's ups and downs. From Kevin, Delphi and Myself we wish you all the best, and hope your future in Nexus will be long and happy.

Cerulean wishes to make his own post, so I will leave that for him.

Farewell everybody~
- Eldridge

As you all have read by now, everyone of us working on Nexus were let go today along with the Accounts/Customer Service person Kevin.

I look back at my time working with each area in Nexus and I am proud of the work we have together completed. I am proud of the time spent here with each of you working towards a better game.

I want to thank each leader who has in their own right made this a better place to play. I also wish to acknowledge all of the hard work of each Archon.

Lastly, I wish to thank the players, without you there would be no Nexus.

I will always look back with fond memories my time here.

Goodluck to each of you and play nice!

Cerulean

As of now, NexusAtlas has not gathered any further information about this change, or it's effects on NexusTK.

I for one wish NexusTK to continue, even if we forsake all new quests and such. It's an integral part of many peoples lives, and a place to go when all other options are exhausted.

For now, all we can do is hope for the best.

- Conro

(There are rumors going that this may be a hoax. Time will tell. I for one pray this is a hoax...)

Added at 1:12 AM EST, by Archon Marama

Please read the latest DW posts, I know all of this is a shock to everyone. But Nexus has not been hacked so please do not continue with this you will get jailed for sage abuse. More news should be posted in a few days at the moment all we know is what has already been posted.

Nexon Impersonation Email
Posted by: Coldsun -- 4:00 PM EST

Apparently there is a new hoax email going around asking for passwords. By now you all should know better than to give your password out to anyone, even if they claim to work for Nexon. One should easily be able to identify this as a fradulent email, look at the address that it derives from: nexustk_mail@yahoo.com.

Also note the poor spelling and grammar.

I received the following letter from Arachnus regarding the scam. Below the dotted lines is an actual copy of the email.

This is an email I got yesterday, along with it I got an official email from nexon stating that I requested a password change and to input the code they sent me on their site to change my password, but I never requested this. It must have been requested by the same person that sent this email.

(Copy of the email:)
---------------------------------------------------------
Hello, this is an automated message from www.NexusTK.com . As you know our servers have recently changed to a new ISP(internet service provider), and with this change, our database has lost track of certain logs. We ask for you to please reply to this email with your username(s) and password(s). Not doing so may result in a perminant deletion of your account(s). Even if your account(s) is not currently registered, we still need your username and password just in case you want to play again in the future.
Thank you,

Please be careful with your passwords, and don't submit to phony emails such as this one.

Mighty Lord of Fire
Posted by: Conro -- 3:51 AM EST

More has been added to the walkthrough!

After being sprinkled...

1) Click the Ogre Chef in the hunt between the fence, and agree to serve wine (Click Yes both times)

2) Gather wine on the far right of the room, exit, and head to the generals hall. Serve wine to the generals until you run out. When they dismiss you promptly leave and return to the Chef's cookery, and gather more wine. Repeat this process until when you gather wine for the first time you get a pop-up telling you that you find no more wine to serve (and get no wine in your inventory)

3) Return to the Chef's room, and click him. He will tell you that you are needed at the South Camp. Exit from the Northern Camp and return to the Master, who gave you your message assignments.

4) Click the master. He will praise you for your work with the generals, but question how you got there. No matter! He will then assign you to work at the Northern Camp permanantly (you NO LONGER have to get sprinkled to enter the Northern camp!)

5) Return to the Northern camp, and click the Chef ogre. He will ask you to run errands, and mutter about a 'Mud fish'.

6) Go to Buya, and say 'Mud Fish' to the fishing NPC at East Gate. Then proceed to 'fish' for this creature using the most expensive rod and bait (1000 and 500). Continue until you catch this fish.

7) Return to the Northern Camp, Ogre Kitchen, and HAND the Mud fish to the Chef. He will praise you for finding it, and tell you to return in one hour to gather your Mud Fish Stew

8) After waiting an hour (REAL TIME), return to the Chef and click him to get your Mud Fish Stew and an Ogre pass which allows you to pass the North guard (Black ogre)

9) Click the North guard, and look for the General (The RED ogre). Click him. He will thank you for the Stew, but request you get his crackers. He will give you an Ogre pass and Ogre key

10) Exit, gather 3 Slag, and return the the Southern camp jail cell. You will be allowed access right in, without having to deliver a message. Go to Soo and say 'Key'. He will make you a copy of your Ogre key using your 3 Slag. You should now have TWO Ogre keys

11) Return to the Northern camp General tent/Kitchen area. Enter General Lonit tent, open the chest inside to gather the Mud fish stew crackers. Go to the tent labled General Gelgeish tent, and use your second key on the chest there to gather a blank Ogre pass.

12) Exit, and go visit Dae-Whan, who taught you ogre to begin with. Say 'Pass' (This is also a good time to refresh your Ogre! Just say 'Ogre'!). He will make your pass a permanant pass.

13) Go back to the Northern camp, go through the Chef's kitchen, and click on the North Guard again. Seek out the Red Ogre and click him, he will take the Stew crackers.

14) Return to the Kitchen, and click the chef. He will again commend you on your work, and ask you to return to the South Master again. Do so.

15) Click on the Southern Camp Master. He will hand you three items (Two Ogre messages and an Ogre pass) which he will ask you to have validated by the General.

16) Return to the Northern camp, click the North guard, seek out the Red ogre, and click him. In his haste he will not only validate the messages, but also your PERMANANT OGRE PASS.

17) Seek the White ogre in the Battlefield where the general is. Click him, he will let you across to the next area.

18) Enter the Great Stairway. Take notice of the douzens of Staff of Elements lighting the stairway. Their orbs are important, they give you the directions to which you will use inside the Temple!
--The directions are as follows--
(KEY: U = Up, D = Down, R = Right, L = Left)
U U R R D D L L U L U U L L D L D L U U L R L R U R D R R D

Yes, at one point you will enter and re-enter a room several times, this is not a mistake.

Following these directions will land you in one of the holiest of areas mortals have ever tread, the Shrine of Fire. Inside this shrine is the Fire Lord himself!

Clicking him nets you a three pop up conversation. Starting with...

A reset has occured during my reporting of this. Further news shall be posted later!

However, because of the walkthrough's size, I posted it in the Community forums.

It can be found here.

ISP Move/New Patch
Posted by: Coldsun -- 6:54 PM EST

This was posted on Dream Weaver by Delphi about an hour ago (8 PM EST). Nexus will be down for about two hours starting at 12 AM EST/9 PM PST tonight.

Hello,

Today (October 4th 2004) we will be moving the game servers to a new ISP. The move will start around 9PM (PST), and should take about 2 hours to complete. During this time Nexus will not be available.

When the game is up and running in the new ISP we will also be doing a very minor patch to update the client with the new IP address of the server. The first time you start Nexus after the move the client will take a while (possibly 3 or more minutes) and then will start to download the latest patch.

If you wish to use the downtime to download the client you can get the full version here:

http://file.nexon.net/client/Nexus/Single/Nexus533.exe

You can download this file now, however you will be unable to use it until the server has been moved, and updated to version 5.33.

If after you have patched using the automatic patching process the client is still slow to connect to the game then we recommend you completely uninstall Nexus, download the latest version from the website and re-install.

For the more adventurous you can try right clicking on the icon for Nexus, and selecting Properties. If the Target has a bunch of numbers after it like this:

"C:\Program Files\Nexon\NextAeon\NexusTK.exe" 61.78.50.60 2000

Remove all the numbers, so it looks like this :

"C:\Program Files\Nexon\NextAeon\NexusTK.exe"

Then click Apply and then OK.

Sorry that this is such short notice, but the current situation at the current ISP is forcing us to act quickly on this and to take care of the problem as fast as possible.

I'm sure Nexon appreciates your patience. Stay tuned for details.

Vortex armor again been changed, this time setting it a bit better than it was since it's previous change.

This example displays that the Il san version of the Male Poet Vortex robes is at the same AC as Sun robes, but with a few additions to your statistics.

Check NexusForums for information on other armors as we get them!

Rebel revolt!
Posted by: Conro -- 4:23 AM EST

More has been added to the event (or fixed, rather?).

After supplying the Rebel slave with two Viperhead woodswords, wait for the Midnight hour (00 Nexus time) to approarch. At midnight, the rebel slaves will equip their weapons and head to north to take on the ogre hoarde there. This will distract the ogres on the left of the fence.

At this point, click on the Rebel slave whom collected your Viperhead woodenswords, and he should tell you that in order to get by, you must be sprinkled with a powder to become 'invisable' to the ogres.

If you do infact get this message, head south out from the Rebel forest and exit the patch of forest the rebels were hidden in, then head north to the North Ogre Camp. Head to the far left of the northern gate, and pass by.

From here you will find the Generals camp, which includes several tents with signs designating which general stays there, and a building, which houses the Ogre Kitchen.

Click the ogre inside while wearing JUST your slave clothing, and he will ask if you're there to help with the Banquet, answer Yes. He will ask if you know how to serve wine, answer Yes.

From here we are stuck.

Some side information:
The Black ogre guard to the north, when clicked, gives two responses.

Clicked on left of fence:
You see a sturdy ogre guarding the gate

Clicked on right of fence:
HALT! You may not get by without a pass

According to the Nexus:TK website:

As of 8:11 PM (PST) we believe that the issues with the ISP have been resolved for the most part, and the game should be working correctly now.

We will be adding 1 day to all the active accounts to compensate for this down time.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Servers back running
Posted by: Vini -- 7:18 PM EST

Through the the early evening, nexus has been experiencing quite a few crashes and some resets. The serves have been unstable for a few hours now, and still not sure if its working properly yet.

On Nexus TK webpage, they've written the following news there:

We are currently experiencing serious issues with the ISP, and our Internet connection. We do not currently have a time for when these issues will be resolved, but we are working as fast as possible to resolve the issue.

Keep an eye on the Nexus Official Website to hear from them on news about this issue.

Right now the servers are back running, hopefully for good.
