The Community Strikes Back
Posted by: Vini -- 4:17 AM EST

For the past weeks, the loyal servants of Blight, the Diviner visions and the mysterious ChaeRi have all warned the citizens of Nagnang and neighbor kingdoms about an imminent mongol attack once again the woodlands. They numbers are much bigger this year and their strike on Blight's army was fatal. It is still not known if Apuen survived the attack. It is time for community to strike back.
For those who were wondering, the entrance to the sub terrain path that leads to Mongol encampment in Woodlands
has changed entrance. It's now located at 0080/0000, northeast of Woodland lobsters. Those who fought the shape shifters of Wuhu Luanhua tribes will easily remember how to get there. To get the legend mark of "Kept the Mongols from taking over the kingdoms" all the adventure needs to do is enter the Mongol camp. Those who have entered before and do it again will have their mark automatically moved to the most recent date.

Here's a map of the whole area:

So far, beating these Mongols in battle will reward with:
  • Wood Scraps, Ginko wood
  • Spent Metal, Metal and Fine metal
  • Wool, Cloth, Fine cloth
  • Splendid Tiger pelts
  • Tigram Keys
  • 95 weapons
  • Wing helms (rare)

For those who had the luck of getting a drop of wing helm, please take a .bmp screenshot of the stats of the item and of the graphic as well and submit to vini@nexusatlas.com
We thank you for your collaboration. So far no gutuls, tengri, charu or Kallal dropped in the previous mongol attack has been achieved this time.

    Turkey Time
Posted by: Conro -- 1:59 PM EST

This is not something normally done on NexusAtlas, but I feel as if it needs to be said.

If you are at all planning on making time for this NexusTK event instead of with family or friends, it's not worth your time.

This is, quite honestly, one of the worst events I've come across in my over 10 years of game play. The lack of an actual quest, worthwhile drops, or a simple continuation of the story leave a bad taste from yet another lackluster event.

Enjoy your turkey time (or Thursday, for non-Americans) with friends and family, and far away from this stink bomb as possible.

    Happy Thanksgiving

    ChaeRi's Homecoming
Posted by: Conro -- 3:28 AM EST

Nagnang has seen great shifts since its days as a quiet nation, closed away from the Kingdom of the Winds.

The opening of the gates into the Northern kingdoms brought the winds, and the perils associated with them. Nagnang, once green and unaware of her surroundings, soon found herself clad in her own blood. Blight, General of King Filla, saw the river of red flow strong through the ducts of his pride. In an effort to bolster morale, he gathered the four tutors, and marched an army clad in royal purple against the Northern threats.

Kija, acknowledging the efforts of his lands former general, altered the national colors of his beloved to a deep purple, symbolizing the regality of Nangen grace and great efforts it took to preserve her land.

Kija has since passed, taken down by the rogue spy Hawkmori. In his wake he left a land divided, and a council of Primogen forced to create a government.

The Mongolian threat approaches, and with it, a new ally emerges. ChaeRi, the jade-banner General of Filla's bloodline readies his army to fight along side those who've protected his homeland. Provided the choice of ruling Nagnang after his fathers death, or leaving it to his brother, ChaeRi chose to go to war instead. Even now, ChaeRi states that the battle ahead and the loan of his jade forces has nothing to do with power, and everything to do with pride.

Nagnang's past and present clash. Without the perfect blend, our future will cease to exist.

To arms, brothers! The war-alliance with the North coupled with ChaeRi's forces will be an unstoppable force in the Nangen arsenal!

    Pending Mongolian Attack
Posted by: Conro -- 11:17 AM EST

Blight has returned to Nagnang with news of a pending attack by Mongolian forces. The portal located in the Nangen Woodlands remains open from the last Mongolian invasion, and despite the strengthening of the Woodlands creatures by Blight dumping a 'Vile of venom' into the water supply, the Mongols have found a way to press on.

A great threat exists from attacks coming from both the portal in south eastern Nangen territory, and attacks coming from the North, charging through Han. Blight called together a war tribunal of the community to discuss a plan of attack. The military and clan militia of Koguryo back Mhul in his call to aid Nagnang. Lasahn has yet to make a public statement.

The Four returned with Blight as well, to give their own accounts of the warfare at hand. Chejungi, the new body of Marasmus, spoke of a Jade-clad force that seemed to ignore his presence. It is unclear if those waving the Jade banners are friend or foe, but talks are in the way to forge an alliance with the Jade-warriors if they too are battling the Mongolian forces.

Blight announced he will be posting further information on attack and defense strategies. Until then, he has taken refuge in the halls of The Forsaken. The Four, before just new bodied Nangen warriors have again resigned to calling The Forsaken home.
Apuen, formerly Abscess, is busy in the council quarters drafting defense plans. Byeong, the mighty Contagion, spends his time in the basement studying new techniques for protection. Sanghan, the stone-faced Atrophy, meditates quietly with a grin on his face, eager to rain dragon flames down on those who oppose Nagnang.

Times are dangerous in the kingdom, and the war cry of 'Tengri' can be heard in the mountains past the Mythos and Vale.

    Be on your guard.

Mongols are coming and Blight plans a strike back
Posted by: Vini -- 3:48 PM EST

Diviner's visions were right. It seems that Mongols are coming to attack Nagnang once again. This time instead Chejungi has spotted not only one horde arriving in the coming week, but two. Mongolians are coming with full power this time but according to Chejungi's letter, there's a third army in the battlefield which is actually fighting them back. Their origins are unknown, but as he claims, they all wear jade colors.
Here's a copy of the original letter written by Chejungi:

    My brother,
It is with a sunken heart that I must report the latest of my findings.
The scouts, I reported to you previously, were a forward party established by a -second- and far numerous horde, located North East of our main army's position.
They have the tactical advantage, my brother! I have been unable to establish a route back to our Brothers. I fear for their safety. Without our army Nagnang's security is in dire danger.
Amidst the darkness comes a most curious revelation, the Mongols and our Brothers are not the only ones occupying the Northern Woods.
A third Army has kept the Mongolians busy, requiring them to split their second horde in two. One half chases the advantage over our Brothers' rear flank, the other continues a staunch defense of the Mongolian Encampment against this unknown aggressor.
From a ridge, south of the defensive Mongolian battle, I see another army - not a horde. Their colors are not of Han, Buya or Koguryo - they are jade. Their force is massive and severe. Their training, I must confess; impeccable.
I catch glimpses of their commander issuing his orders to his Lieutenants. I cannot stress enough; you must gather Nagnang's leaders together brother. I can only hope thes- *the sentence stops*

    I've been spotted.

    -----------------------------------------------
Seeing such horrible news, Blight has broken from silence and directed a letter to the nations involving the imminent attack by the Mongols. He proposed a meeting at the Herbarium in the following days and invited all the leaders and citizens friends of Nagnang to participate in. Here's a copy of the letter Blight posted in Chronicles of the Winds:

Leaders, Citizens and Friends of Nagnang,
The Mongol filth has raised a second army from the plains and are currently attacking the rear of my Army, severing and securing our precious supplies. My brothers and I are making preparations for a counter attack. We plan to clear the way for an assault on the heart of the Mongolian's encampment.
However, *a blot of ink* Nagnang now requires the aid of all those who are able to defend and reinforce her to guarantee our rightful independence.
We will be holding a War Tribunal, for all the Leaders, Citizens and those that would call themselves Friends of Nagnang to attend at my Herbarium.
((11/19/09 8pm EST - near East gate Nagnag)).
We will execute the proposed plans that come from this meeting and I will send my Brothers to enact the proposed changes on the front, whilst the Primogens of Nagnang will be charged with Her defense, should the scum break the line held by my forces *the writing becomes more haphazard* and dare to taint Nagnang's soil.
The Four will return the day after launching our first counter attack and we will meet once again at the Herbarium to discuss our next stage. ((11/21/09 - 8pm EST))
Citizens and friends of Nagnang, your attendance is required. Regardless of whether you are here to defend our nation or whether you are Northern mercenaries, the Mongolian aggressors' forward positions must be dealt with first. If you have an able mind or a willing blade, *a large blot of ink* I ask for your attendance.
    *the writing becomes more slanted*
Primogens, your attendance is vital to Nagnang's defense. I will not tolerate those who would sit idle whilst our beloved nation lies in danger. Such idleness is little more than treachery. Traitors will not remain on Nangen soil whilst I still draw breath. You will attend, you will commit your swords and minds, or gods help me, I will bring Nagnang to heel and march your members to the front at the point of my blade myself. We will stand or fall together.

    For our Glorious Lady Nagnang,

    *hastily signed*

    Blight
    Beast of Nagnang
    Commander of Nagnang's Forces

It seems that last time Mongols came to nexus lands the community easily shoved the away. Will we be successful this time again? What could be this jaded army that is fighting by our side?

    Marasmus's letter to Blight
Posted by: Vini -- 4:13 PM EST

While searching for more Augury readings that could be available in the Chronicles of the Winds board, a distinguishing message could be found among the others: a letter by Chejungi directed to Blight. Here's a copy of it:

    My brother Blight,
As requested I have continued to command your Army's advanced and rear scouting groups. I have however recently delegated my advanced scouting duties. My change in direction is prompted by my privately growing concerns of the security of the rear territory we had previously thought was under our control.

Our commanding officers all report that the forward positions, they have occupied, have appeared to yield to their attacks, giving way to your mighty army's force.

Our officers are confident that our recent campaigns have fought them back, but I must confess to you, my brother, that I do not share their view.

I write this letter as I sit camouflaged some few hundred strides from an encampment of an enemy scouting position. Worryingly I am situated several a hundred li behind the lines established by our army.

The long nights of observation wear heavily on me and my scouts, my brother. One of my scouts, so worn down by the recent events, has had to be retired, citing he spotted a flying tiger delivering parcels to the enemy encampment. Other men have even started to ramble inanely about sighting fallen Nagnang soldiers returning to fight the enemy. I've sent them back to Nagnang for rest. I will continue alone for now, but I must also rest soon.

For now, I will continue to report my finding, my brother. I hope you will take my advice with serious consideration.

    In blood and brotherhood.

    For Nagnang,
    Chejungi

As a reminder, Chejungi is the new name adopted by the rogue Marasmus after the community gave the Pul-i Sara-na-ta in the Shendao to help ressurect the four back in Yuri 73. The meaning of such message is still not well known. Hopefully with the help of investigators we can find what's behind this letter.

    Beware of the Fox
Posted by: Vini -- 3:45 PM EST

As revealed by the merchant Lockz on Chronicles of the Winds, the notorious Noblefox has recently been spotted in Koguryo. Most known for stealing the Buyan crown jewels and attempting to steal Yuri's crown, he has recently being selling a local 'Guild' valuable information in exchange for huge loads of coins. What kind of information would be so important to be worth millions of coins?

Here's a transcript of part of the negotiations they had today:

Nexus Atlas is looking for pictures with spotting the fox anywhere in the kingdoms. If you see him, beware the trickster cannot be trusted.

    Augury Visions!
Posted by: Vini -- 8:09 PM EST

A few Diviners have experienced Augury visions today and posted their experiences in the Chronicles of the Winds. An Augury vision is an omen, a prognostic, a glimpse look into a very important future happening. Usually, Diviners can have this strong divination in groups. The flash forward isn't clear on what's to come, but often reveals important matters if deciphered well enough. Here's what has been posted in the COTW board so far:

  • Iruma's Augury reading:
I have been tormented with bloody visions,
visions of such power and intensity that
each time one forms itself before my eyes,
I fall on the ground unconscious. Voices,
I hear voices barking loudly "Tengri,
TENGRI!" The sound penetrates my mind from
every possible direction until there is no
more... And the black night consumes me.
    Unconsciousness...

    ------------------------------
  • Arcanis's Augury reading:
I have been granted with an unusually strange vision.
It started in a very unusual manner... my
vision went dark, all I could see is nothing but
a haze. I had a strange feeling, yet I felt this
    vision was of great importance.

Small shadows appeared and grew larger as the haze clears. ... What was that, that I see?!
I saw men holding dark swords and long pikes. They
    ride on steeds of fire!!
As they ride, their wake left destruction every-
    where they marched.

I woke up from this vision and some strange smells
    lingered on my nose..
It was the scent of raw meat and fire.

    ------------------------------
  • Clarrissa's reading:
    Walking through a garden,
    Alone in my thoughts,
The smell of flowers permeates my nose
    And the world goes black.

Sound returns first, a thunderous noise
the clanking of armor, swords unsheathing,
horses thundering under their riders' commands.

My vision greys, and then clears for an instant,
a solitary man in moss-like armor,
    determination in his eyes
rides towards an army with the sun at his back
a sea of men behind him.

The world blackens again and I wake,
next to my head lays a ripe apple.

Nexus Atlas is annalyzing what could be coming in near future by combining the different readings, but community can surely help on figuring out what they mean.

    Last General of Nagnang
Posted by: Vini -- 1:34 PM EST

After 3 hyuls leading the Nagnang soldiers and putting up with the creation of the Covenant after Prince Kija's murder, Windbreakerx has stepped down from primogen position. This marks the stepping down of the last person who served as General of Nagnang Army. As his sucessor he chose a very well known face to nangens: Adragonsclaw, who had served as General of Nagnang Army during early Hyuls.

Nexus Atlas would like to thank Windbreakerx for over 5 months of dedication his people and congratulates Adragonsclaw on his new position as Primogen of the Covenant clan.

    New Jailings
Posted by: AllyGator -- 11:08 PM EST

When many of us signed on today, we found a large number of players who have been banned for using 3rd party programs for autocrafting or for speeding. This is a huge relief because we all know people who gain advantage by using cheats.

Daime and Maiyu have spoken to players to let them know that all bans were verified by mug and that all have been proven to be true. Nonetheless, players who have personal knowledge of some of those banned cannot accept this. A large protest was organized at South Gate Mythic this morning.

One of the possibilities suggested was that many players cannot connect to the internet from home. They use internet cafes to play. Perhaps the programs run there and the player didn't know it and didn't use the hacks or possibly didn't know they were running.

However it happened many are upset and not convinced by the explanation given. They would like assurances from KRU. We feel that most of the banned players will not return causing sadness for their friends and hurting KRU's bottom line.

SorroZ & FairLady report that you can do a Greater Alliance after you finish a Sublime Alliance. I can't imagine why you'd want to kill more bosses, they did it together so maybe it's love. Who knows?

Notice that the GA is forged after FairLady got Sa San recently. Now we have 2 Lesser Alliance, 3 Greater Alliance, and 1 Sublime on our legends! (Most people that have completed sublime have 3 LA, 2GA, 1 Sublime).

    No Coffee today
Posted by: Vini -- 4:28 PM EST

Today marks a sad day for Nexus as the Content Manager Cup announced through sage that this was her last day in our lands. She was the person behind getting the Kruna shop items being sold on the official site and her work helped a lot keeping nexus alive.

Cup saged few hours ago that she was moving on to other things, thanked everyone and said it was a pleasure to work here. It's sad to see her go, especially now that Musoyen is almost done with the Kruna section of Nexus Atlas.

Kruna shops will still get updates and today was probably her last one. Here are the new types of items that were launched with last reset and are available in dozen different colors:

Nexus Atlas thanks Cup for all she has done to nexus and wishes her good luck in her new endeavors.
