Walkthrough - Preparing for the Centennial Feast
Posted by: AznCloudBoi -- 3:15 PM EST

With the Kangsee conflict resolved, Koguryo prepares for a grand centennial feast and the chief decorator, Hye Ap, is having a few issues with delayed supplies.

To complete this event, you must retrieve three notes from the workers. These notes can be done in any order. Just have to have all three when speaking with Hye Ap in the end to receive rewards. You do not need to visit her to start the quest.

Hye Ap, chief decorator, is located in the Kugnae Palace. Once you enter the koguryo palace courtyard, you can find her in the room to the left (7,11) which takes you to the Royal Palace Mezzanine. She sits at the top and seems to be busy.

Madin's Note
For this part, you will have to capture turkeys. To do so, you must have a "Catching Net" and multiple "Animal Cages." You will need to -use- acorns to stun the turkeys. After they are stunned, you can just swing them down to capture them.

The catching net can be purchased for 10,000 coins from Jinhye at Do's Spiritual Garden (Do Subpath Area).
Artic Land -> Northern Pass -> Sanhae Pass -> Sanhae Valley (33,19) -> Do Training Arena (03,03) -> Room of Enlightenment (01,03) -> Spiritual Garden

Animal cages can be purchased for 2,000 coins each from Dokami at Master Kyun's Enclave (Merchant Subpath Area). You will need 50 of these. So be ready to make multiple trips.
Kugnae (100,159)-> Merchant Study -> Merchant Grand Hall (14,02) -> Master Kyun's Enclave

Now that you have your catching net, animal cages, and some acorns. You are now ready to catch some turkeys. The turkeys are located in Nagnang Shore (South of Nagnang Farms) and in Jolbon Ruin/Farm. 'U'se the acorn to stun the turkey (it will turn blue), then swing until it is caged.

Once you have captured some "Caged turkey," you must head to Madin in Jolbon's Dam. She also sells Jolbon talismans for 5,000 coins to warp back quicker. Say "Caged Turkey" to have her take your turkeys. When you turn in 50, she will hand you Madin's Note (She will help you keep track).
Jolbon Ruins -> Jolbon Farmstead (23,1) -> Jolbon Dam
Note: There is more to Madin with the turkeys. She has more rewards if you turn in more turkeys.

Mael's Note

After being dropped off from a boat, Mael is located in Nagnang Farms (26,75). Nagnang Farms can be found in lower left of the map (Nagnang 11,154).
1. Say "Field Pumpkin" - she will ask you to collect 60 Field Pumpkin for her. Don't have to speak to her before collecting.
2. Kill Haunted Watermelons in the Nagnang Farm or Nagnang Haunted House. They drop the Field pumpkins and also watermelons .
3. Say "Here is pumpkin" to turn in the pumpkins. You can carry 20 at a time. Once finished, you will receive the note.
BONUS: You can turn in 40 more and receive "Pumpkin pie." It's a one-time use that recovers full vita and mana.

Jamado's Note
.
Jamado is in charge of the cranberry delivery, but is having a hard time collecting them due to the creatures in the EumRim forest. You can find him located in Buya's Islets at 77,45. You can start collecting before speaking to him.
1. Head to the EumRim Forest [Islet (78,11)-> Forest Crossroads (28,19)]
2. Say "Collect Cranberry" (Don't forget this step)
3. Slay Hexed Dwarf Shrub . and collect 80 Cranberries. You can hold only 20 at one time.
4. Say "Cranberry bunches" to Jamado to hand them in. Once you finished the 80, you will receive his note.

Turning in the Notes
Once you have the three notes, head back to Hye Ap in the Koguryo Palace and say "Hello." Agree to help her and she will reward you. You will receive a some karma, legend mark, Ceremonial tea of Koguryo, and Koguryo's gratitude (no use for this yet).

Special thanks to Thanks to AzNCloudBoi, Nichi, IcePixy, Stormin, ZhangLio, BlackOrchid and NoBrows!

Server Reset - Thanksgiving Turkey Hunt Begins
Posted by: AznCloudBoi -- 6:03 PM EST

Earlier today there was a server reset which removed the Halloween events and therefore the Kangsees, but introduced a new Thanksgiving event.

Gear up with a catching net, hundreds of animal cages and acorns as the hunt for turkeys has began. There is also a huge new forest east of Islets and Forest Crossroads, in which Dwarf trees can walk and attack you. If that wasn't crazy enough how about walking watermelons that eat field pumpkins? It seems the Necromancer is finding other means to meddle with the world of living and of the dead. Watch out!

BOARD TITLE: Dream Weaver
FROM: NexusTK DATE: 11/17
SUBJECT: Server Reset - Nov. 17th, 2018

- Halloween closes.

- Happy Thanksgiving!

With the reset comes two new whispering wind posts. Both post gives an update about the enclave and the upcoming feast.

BOARD TITLE: Whispering winds
FROM: NexusTK DATE: 11/17
SUBJECT: A Feast under Peril

The Kangsee menace is over. The Royal Princes of Koguryo were able to destroy the Beacon of Soul with the help of Buya and Nagnang Royals. Professor Mulberry, Yemaro and Fae Won went back to their hometown.

However, the Necromancer Jieut still remains a threat to the kingdoms. Now instead of luring spirits to enter random corpses, he's killing animals and luring their spirits into plants. How can that be possible?

While then, Koguryo prepares for the Centennial Feast and the Chief Decorator seems very concerned with the delayed arrival of some supplies. Could this be the work of Jieut as well?

BOARD TITLE: Whispering winds
FROM: NexusTK DATE: 11/17
SUBJECT: Friends reunited

Little Triptipitti is very thankful to all the brave men and women for the time and effort they put into looking for her lost friend, Tailoki.

Now that the kitten is back by her side, Triptipitti is as happy as can be! Days gained back color and sunshine, and chores no longer loom over like an ocean of dark clouds.

The kind gesture towards one of their own did not escape the notice of cautious Taal'yeein folk, Tluuki, Triptipiti's father, particularly so.

He's been spreading good word on our behalf to all of his customers, so who knows what we'll discover as their trust in us grows.

Ghosts, Amulets and Samjok-O My!
Posted by: IcePixy -- 10:48 AM EST

Last night, the Royals of the Tri-Kingdoms gathered in the Koguryo Royal Coliseum to discuss the Necromancer and how to defeat him.

However, during the meeting Prince Mobon disappeared, apparently summoned by Creature Jieut into the Vale where the Necromancer was again attacking with his minions.

With the help of Emissary Sadiq, Creature Jieut fell via Onyon and the Twin Princes decided that they should head to Jolbon to destroy the Beacon. While at the entrance to the dark pit in Jolbon, Prince Mobon with the aid of Sul'sah PhoenixLi attempted to contact the spirit realm for guidance. During their chanting, we all heard an unfamiliar voice ((via status box messages)):

We all quickly hurried to the Tomb of the late Prince Haemyung located directly north to see his ghost appear ~ throughout the discussion and consequent update of the tri-kingdoms we discovered the existence of a 'Light Amulet'.

Unfortunately, Prince Mobon was exhausted after contacting the Spirit and the young teenage Prince MingJung was left to find the amulet himself, luckily enough it was found at the Spirit Tree Pass along the journey back to Kugnae.

Prince MingJung then brought the 'Light Amulet' back to Jolbon Ruins and asked us all to use our Magic Mirrors to reflect the light, which seemed to attract what we had believed to be a myth: The Samjok-O!

While it looks as though AznCloudBoi flew in on its back, the Samjok-o was riderless, in fact it then proceeded to engulf both Prince MingJung and the 'Light Amulet' in it's Sun Fire. Once the Samjok-o vanished into the night, Prince MingJung then flung the 'Light Amulet' into the dark abyss below.

At this point floricades popped up along the abyss entrance and Creature Jieut had gathered enough strength to attack again, this time using the bodies of SkoGul and Taiisrhaa.

While Queen Lasahn, Prince Daeso, King ChaeRi and other heroes of our lands fought off the undead minions, Prince MingJung seemed more interested in canoodling with the Behemoth Charlene, spending an inordinate amount of time with the Barbarian, is she to be our next Warrior Princess?

Only time will tell! Seen something we haven't reported? Let a NexusAtlas reporter know!

The Necromancer Attacks the Vale
Posted by: Vini -- 11:46 PM EST

Jieut has attacked again and this time instead of just relying on his army of Undead to fight he took the battle initiative to his own hands, our we could say: his Soulcatcher staff.

The battle occurred in the west of Vale, and while some of us were believing he could be headed to the black hole, he mostly took base on the small isle that was torn up during the memorable Clash of Gods that took on between Mug and Abu years ago.

It seems the presence of Jieut in Vale was discovered by the Rangers. While it is unclear why he was there, this battle revealed that Jieut is an extraordinarily dangerous foe, who can fight dozens of the strongest people of the community all by himself. One of his most bizarre powers is that he can transform people he touch into skeletons, but so far it was not heard of any one actually being controlled by him under that spell.

After over an hour of battle, Jieut was finally defeated, but shortly falling in battle to Crakajax after he did a world sage alerting that this wasn't over.

A wizard of stories now rests
Posted by: Vini -- 4:46 PM EST

Word is that one of the main storytellers from Paekjae kingdom known as Master Lee died today in a fire that has taken one of their cities. Upon hearing that news, a legion of stans decided march to a town called Chonsadeul in homage to the book writer. What is most intriguing about this is that all of them were wearing some strange Halloween costumes we haven't seen before. Here are some of people we could find:

While we may have not met this Master Lee before, the fact many that of the fans that are doing this live among us in Koguryo, Buya, Nagnang or the wilderness, it means that in a way he this famous storyteller may have influenced our culture more than we may realize. May he rest in peace and may the other people affected by the fire in Chonsadeul city stay safe.

Article: Necromancer Jieut & The Stygian Order
Posted by: Vini -- 1:15 PM EST

By now you probably heard enough a lot about 'the Necromancer' or probably fought against his army in Jolbon or in his raid to the kingdoms. After being attacked by the Twin Princes of Koguryo, buy Queen Lasahn of Buya and by King ChaeRi of Nagnang, it seems that the Necromancer, Jieut, is now in war with the tri-kingdoms. And, if there's an important concept of the Art of War we should always remember of in situations like this is: Know your enemy. So in this news article we'll try to summarize everyone we know so far about Jieut and his 'Army of the Dead'.

One important we could learn from Professor Mulberry is that the Necromancer, Jieut, is not a living person, but a spirit. It's unknown how he gained his powers or how he gained a body, but doing a little digging on past news we discovered that many of us have actually helped Jieut years ago.

Back in Yuri 77 ((Halloween 2005)) the community was dealing with one of its first major outbreaks of spirits in the kingdoms, some which were 'Wandering Spirits' and others who were 'Deadly spirits'. It seems among those spirits there was a 'lost one' at Koguryo Cemetery and back then it was asking people to collect Spirit's sight, Spirit's soul, Spirit's blessing, etc.

Without much understanding of who, how or what we were helpin, many have 'aided the lost spirit to spiritual realm'. Well, it seems that such lost spirit was Jieut. And now, it seems that the Spirit from Halloween's past has come to haunt us.

We didn't know how he died back then, we didn't know how he got lost from the spiritual realm in first place and we have no idea why he came back now years later.

There are two current hypothesis on how we gained a body. The first one is that Jieut may have taken the body of Elder Grey's husband when he deceived her. Another option is that he may have taken the body of Yemaro's missing oldest son. There might other explanations, but these were the only clues we could relate to so far.

One other interesting thing people found is that the Necromancer seems to be part of a clan called 'Stygian Order'. This is important to pay attention to because first it shows Jieut may not be working alone and second because of the name itself. "Stygian" means extremely dark. And what is one of the darkest places in Nexus? The black hole in the Vale, where years ago people lead the lost spirit (Jieut back then to). So, whatever Stygian Order may be up to, there is probably some connections to the Vale's black hole.

Got a theory or a clue of your own? Share with us and we'll add it here.

News from Changmu Town's Folk
Posted by: Vini -- 10:06 PM EST

Since the arrival of the trio of villagers from Changmu Town at Jolbon Farmstead people have been able to hear updates about how the town is doing and most importantly people were finally able to discover who was responsible for the Theft at Changmu Town Hall in during Hyul 91 ((Halloween event 2017)).

If you weren't around during last Halloween you might not know where Changmu Town is. It's southeast of Nagnang from southeast of Leviathan Fields. From there it's the Nagnang Gorge and the Pae River.

The Road to Shilla (and therefore access to Changmu Town) is still blocked as King Gima of Shilla and King ChaeRi of Nagnang aren't on speaking terms. However, as mentioned above, 3 villagers from Changmu found another way around and traveled all the way from Changmu Town to Ruins of Jolbon to help with the Kangsee issue.

To allow people to discover on their own the identity of the Changmu's Town Hall Thief, we decided delay writing about this on the news, but by now if you haven't talked to Professor Mulberry yet, you might not even realize all what he has to say. So here is a summary of all Professor Mulberry, Yamaro and Fae Won revealed about how things are going on in that touristic town of Kingdom of Shilla:

Professor Mulberry:

Professor Mulberry is the one that has most interesting information to share. From talking to him we we can get updating on how things are going. He first greets us then makes himself available to talk about three subjects:

1. About The Town Hall Thief

Depending on whether you helped with the investigation of the theft of Changmu Town Hall last year or not Professor Mulberry will introduce himself or thank you for the assistance you've given.
If you never met him before or didn't conclude last year's quest he'll introduce himself saying he's from a small town in Shilla Kingdom called Changmu (shown as version A on popup).

If you met him before and assisted in the investigation he'll great you by the name and thank you for your service to their town. He says that with our help they found out that it was Elder Grey who stole the burial records from Changmu.

He said Colonel Noir was right to accuse her and that the person Elder Grey was talking in the cellar and that Colonel Noir heard her talking with was actually a spirit called 'Jieut' who promised he would be able to connect her with her deceased husband. So it seems the Necromancer Jieut is a spirit who fooled the old lady and stole the burial records from her without fulfilling his part of their dark scheme, leaving her in a bad situation with the rest of the town.

Professor Mulberry then says that the rest of the Changmu Council decided to remove her status of Town Councilor and Mayor Lioga sentenced her to community service for the rest of her life.

Mulberry concludes saying that they're still trying to repair the damage done by Elder Grey and that's why they came to help at Jolbon when they heard the news of Kangsee attacking there. Yemaro and Mulberry created the Jangseung totem poles and linked the Jolbon talismans to it so we can quickly warp there and Fae Won brought magic mirrors, dye potions and Hangawi food to help.

2. About Hangawi Festival

According to Professor Mulberry the Changmu Town finally had another Hangawi Festival after the tragedy brought by the Necromancer during the previous one. However, it seems that the once main town for that holiday in Shilla is no more a touristic attraction.

The Hangawi Festival is a major harvest festival celebrated in Shilla Kingdom during Fall and marked by many traditions. It's a three-day holiday when lots of people would go to Changmu Town to dance, eat Mooncake, drink Cassia wine with their families and come to pay respect to the graves of their ancestors.

What Professor Mulberry revealed is that this year only some visitors went there from Shilla's capital, but not even close to the 'swarms' of tourists they used to have. He says that some of the merchants there had profit, but most probably didn't, like Jin Tai or probably Fae Won.

3. About Changmu Council

Professor Mulberry revealed that there are elections going on in Changmu choose a new Mayor for the Town. According to him, after another low attendance of Hangawi Festival this year, the King Gima of Shilla demanded a new mayor who is more concerned with security.

Mulberry said that two of the Town Councilors entered the race for the vacant position: Colonel Noir and Mr. Taupe. The Professor says that he doesn't like either of them and claims that Noir is a bigot and Taupe is corrupt.

Mulberry says he thinks Mrs. Reseda would be a better Mayor than those two and said he's thankful that she forgave him for suspecting her. He concludes saying that he forgave Ms. Viola for suspecting him and actually married her. He then invites us to stop by the town sometime after the Kangsee issue is solved in Jolbon.

Yemaro:

Yemaro doesn't say as much as Professor Mulberry. He main concentrates on explaining that he and the professor were able to create Jolbon talismans and link them to Jangseung poles located at the entrance of Ruins of Jolbon.
Other than that we can also ask him about his family.

He says that his wife Seung held a successful 'Gabae', an annual weaving contest held during Hangawi Festival. He reveals that his youngest son Xismo has grown up and is no longer afraid of monsters, so he'll probably not be scared of our costumes anymore. He finalizes saying that he wishes his oldest son would return home some day. Last time we heard about Yemaro and Seung's oldest son it was that he used to stay at the Moonlight Hills for hours during the night howling to the moon pretending he was a wolf, but one day he never returned.

One of the cemetery keepers in Changmu Town, Jae Hui, claimed last year that he could still hear the howling coming from the hills sometimes, but warned us that this whole subject is a sort of a taboo in Changmu Town.

Fae Won:

Besides talking about his friend Jing Tai not being able to sell charcoal and teal tinctures, Fae Won doesn't talk much time time. He has a very important role of selling the Magic mirrors (although we can buy from Kaming's Encampment too), and brought some of the traditional food they have during Hangawi Festival.

Last year he described Mooncake as "a tender pastry biscuit filled red bean and lotus seed paste and that people of Shilla believe that eating it every year ensures longevity".
It costs 10,000, heals 20% of vita and casts longevity spell, which makes character immune to poison, scourge etc. for 20 seconds. You can eat a piece of it every 30 minutes.

The Cassia wine is made from sweet osmanthus flowers and the taste is a bit like peach with a bit of cinnamon. The families that visit Changmu Town drink it celebrating as 'reunion wine', except for children. They also believe it helps with longevity as it cures various diseases and rejuvenates the mind and body. It costs 10,000 coins it heals 20% of mana and casts clear mind spell, which dispels all negative spells on you. It can also be consumed every 30 minutes.

If we missed any important information concerning these three Changmu merchants of any important detail to contextualize to people who weren't around during Changmu Town event last year please let us know.

New Sage of Nagnang
Posted by: Vini -- 6:55 PM EST

A couple days ago there has been a shift in leadership of the 'Eternal Order of Nagnang', the ministry of the kingdom.

Sage Wildhair has stepped down from her position of leading the ministry and appointed Milana as her successor.

She is mostly known as a Diviner Guide and Mage Tutor, but this isn't the first leadership position Milana had. Before this she briefly served as Primogen of SanSin of Buya from Hyul 64 to 65. Milana serves Lt. General of the Nagnang Army, making her a prominent figure in both the civil (ministry) and military (army) branches of Nagnang Government.

Nexus Atlas congratulates Sage Milana on her new position and wishes her good fortune with her new duties. Also a special thanks to Wildhair for her services to Nagnang kingdom and the Nexus community overall.

Jing Tai's Halloween Dye Potions
Posted by: Vini -- 10:35 PM EST

Besides the main quests of the event, there seems to be a mini-quest that allows people to once again obtain the Halloween dyes: Charcoal dye and Teal dye.

The Changmu traveling merchant, Fae Won, says that Jing Tai (The famous Dyer from Changmu Town) made a lot of tincture potions thinking he would sell them during the latest Hawgawi's festival moons ago, but no one bothered to buy it. So, when Jing Tai asked Fae Won to bring most of his bottles to in the journey to Koguryo to try to make some profit of it.

Fae won gives you the option of purchasing to two dye potions:
  • Charcoal tincture (a.k.a LinSkrae dye)
  • Teal tincture (a.k.a. Grin dye)

  • To purchase a Charcoal potion you'll need to bring him 10 charcoal rocks and 10,000 coins.

  • To purchase a Teal potion costs 10 Moss clumps and 10,000 coins.

  • Charcoal rocks and Moss clumps are event items. Charcoals are dropped by Dark Gangshi and mosses are dropped by Teal Gangshi, both can be found at Jolbon Subterranean cave.

To enter Jolbon Subterranean event cave just descend into the well at Jolbon Farmstead.

    The Day Earth Stood Still
Posted by: Vini -- 11:20 PM EST

"This shall be remembered as the Day of the Dead" - Jieut, the Necromancer

A couple days ago the Necromancer appeared in the Ruins of Jolbon and summoned forth his army of the dead. With the united forces of citizens Koguryo, Buya, Nagnang and the wilderness folk, Jieut's undead creatures were contained and the battle was won. Jieut however taunted Queen Lasahn, King ChaeRi and the Twin Princes of Koguryo that their kingdoms would suffer for their interference in Jolbon. And so, today Jieut kept his promise.

Thousands of cadavers, skeletons, skuldiers, Gwisins, Kangsees, Gangshis, Jianghis and Giant Skeletons have raised from the ground and attacked on multiple locations. Instead of having all of the community confronting him at the same location, Jieut decided to divide to conquer.

He raised the army of the dead from the three kingdoms and in the wilderness. In Koguryo they attacked at the Cemetery, the Hallowed Pass, Southern Koguryo, Merchant's enclave, Chongun's Sacred Battlegrounds, Spy's Stealth Grotto as well as coordinated attacks at the four gates. In Nagnang they raised in the Burial Ground, Nagnang Haunted House, Nagnang Farms, Shaman's Valley of the Dead. In Buya the attacks concentrated on the north gate and on the Islets.

After hours of battle, Jieut went to a a final showdown in the Islets and while it seemed he could not run anymore. He achieved the impossible. His minions can no longer be deafeated. Jieut now claims Islet as his. The Necromancer now seems to be stealing the souls of animals in the lands and many just seem to be empty shells of the lives they had.

A special thanks to Amatus for sharing his screenshots.

Wony's note about events' RP choices
Posted by: Vini -- 10:30 PM EST

It seems that late last night GM Wony made a post on the community board that wasn't highlighted and therefore might have passed unnoticed by us at Nexus Atlas and perhaps by a large part of the community. It's a quite interesting read. Here is a copy of the post he made:

    BOARD TITLE: Community
    FROM: GM Wony DATE: 10/31
    SUBJECT: You and the events
All the things that happen in Land of the Winds are part of an on-going story and history. Whether you see them or not, it is safe to say that all storylines are somewhat intertwined and the choices you make in these events may well affect the outcome of the storytelling in a minor or major way.

I encourage you to think well on the choices you take on the present and future events, as well as to discuss with other individuals, clans, subpaths, armies, and ministries in which position they want to take.

How that may affect you in later days only time will tell, but until then remember what you have learned, as it may aid you when the time comes.

    Wony

Such message seems to be a subtle suggestion/explanation that we should make choices on events not based on items or rewards that we can get, but how we want to see the story moving forward. It's unclear how the choices of weakening or strengthening the Necromancer army affected us last year, but Wony made it clear that the choices we make now, made in the past and will make in the future play a small or huge factor on the story of Nexus.

    Free talismans initiative
Posted by: Vini -- 7:30 AM EST

To conclude the Beacon of Souls quest people need to collect a large amount of kangsee talismans. While many people still need to finish their quest some people who already finished decided to camp places where the Kangsee spawn less to stock on talismans and make huge profit from it.

Do not pay for kangsee talismans. Over the next days I'll be collecting talismans for the sole purpose of helping others and will provide those who need them for free. I invite others to join this initiative to help break the greedy cycle we see rise in certain events.

If you want to contribute by providing people with free talismans copy the post on the Community board and write your name down:
