Server Reset - Thanksgiving Event is here
Posted by: Vini -- 10:00 AM EST

BOARD TITLE: Whispering Winds
FROM: NexusTK DATE: 11/25
SUBJECT: Server Reset - Nov. 25th, 2020
- Halloween event ends. If you still have cache keys to use, visit WoonSoo in the Incubator and he'll be able to assist you.

- Thanksgiving event begins!

It is that time of the year to hunt turkeys again. This time they went loose in the farms north of Buya. To start the event just head to the Buya Gathering at the North of Buya and head to the new passage to the northeast.

There you'll cross the customs and reach the farming fields where you can once again hunt to get turkeys back into animal cages. This year, however there seems to be more to be done rather than just capturing fowls. People will also need to shoot down Crow flocks with burst arrows obtained at the Northern Buya Farms, and people can also reach a new town where Wicked trees are spawning and cut them off with our beloved axes.

Here is a copy of the Whispering Winds note about this event:
BOARD TITLE: Whispering Winds
FROM: NexusTK DATE: 10/25
SUBJECT: Attack of the Crows
There is unrest in the northern farms of Buya. Several thousand crows are flying daily from the northeast and have been destroying the harvest from the local producers. The flocks also attacked the main poultry house from where all the domestic fowls fled to the fields.

Worried about a possible scarcity of food, Queen Lasahn asked her son to lead an expedition to the northern region to investigate the reasons behind why there are so many birds fluttering around the farms. Since he still has not returned, the borders to the north have now been open to those who wish to go help solve the current situation.

Adventurers, beware! Countless turkeys are on the loose!

The Nexus Atlas team is working on a full walk-through of the event, until it's published we advise you to check the community board for the amazing guide provided by several helpful members of the Nexus community.

Lost Kingdom changes leadership!
Posted by: dee -- 8:13 PM EST

There have been some change in Lost Kingdom this week. LadyPhoenix has stepped down and passed the Primogen role over to Merit! We caught up with Primogen Merit last night and this is what he had to say, "I would like to thank everyone in the clan for this opportunity! I am going to do my best to make Lost Kingdom and Buya proud.”

Lost Kingdom started off the celebration with a giveaway. Many left with smiles and full pockets!

Dossier - Iron Hands
Posted by: Vini -- 6:26 PM EST

Over the past decades, the community had multiple battles against a group of people known as Iron Hands. They are mostly famous because of the weapons and the hand items we obtained from fighting them, but there is much more to their story than we even know of. This dossier complies with all of the information we know about these dangerous foes.

Who are the Iron Hands and why do they worry our community so much?

The Iron Hands are a gang of outlaws obsessed with gaining power through the use of occult magic. They were first seen in the Vale when Melgis, Hacquin and their leader Gotesi were found looking for someone named Darengal.

Over the past years, the Iron Hands caused much trouble when they tried to use magic to open portals into ethereal realms of existence and pursued to gain control of our kingdoms by forging powerful weapons that are much stronger than anything we might be able to wield.

Below you'll find in details the essential aspects of each main event when we confronted the Iron Hands:

The Asmodi Eyes and the Key to the Other Planes (2013)

The first time we heard about them was back in Hyul 59 when they learned to control the 'eyes' that Asmodi (the caretaker of the Purgatory) uses to see between worlds. The 'Eyes' seem to be structures that the Asmodi use to oversee life and death. So, back then Iron Hands kidnapped the Asmodis, magically sealed them within a boiling earthly prison, and tried to use those 'eyes' to teleport to different lands to break the barrier of reality and conquer new lands.

The Iron Hands shamans however only learned to duplicate similar but very unstable Eyes. And it was with that instability that we were able to help the Asmodi sustain against the Iron Hands and gain back control of the 'Eyes'.

Our first victory against the Iron Hands had the help of a mysterious roguish figure known as Sharenth made an appearance. He seemed to be a member of the fallen Shadow subpath. Sharenth was a key figure in helping fight off the Iron Hands. which led the community to discover some weird realms of existence like 'Nowhere' and 'Nothing,' and new monsters.

Utilizing Ink and an item called "Geulimja" which allowed us to engulf ourselves in the Shadow and slit undetected through the area, we were able to help the Asmodi escape from the Iron Hands captivity and close their false Eyes being used by them.

During this first battle, it was when we were first able to collect the hand items known as Overseer eyes and Iron Hands gauntlets. Those who assisted the Asmodi were also granted with Nascent daggers (also known as Asmodi weapons), which were going to be used to help fight alongside them in the future.

The Iron Dungeon and the Most Powerful Weapon (2016)

The second confront against the Iron Hands happened during Hyul 81. It was then when we first discovered the Iron Dungeon after solving a puzzle with stone posts at the patio before entering the dungeon. It was there that we found them keeping four prisoners who were being forced to help the Iron Hands build an immensely powerful weapon known as Sip San Sear Blade.

To understand the power of a Sip san, we're still waiting to learn the secrets of the Oh san (5th mark), while the Sip san would be equivalent to the 10th mark (81.92 mil vita or 40.96 mil mana).

To create the Sip San Sear blade they were using a wooden model created by a Carpenter named Ern-Aaron and forcing another prisoner called Kid Smith (a very arrogant kid) to use the model to create metal versions of the weapon. If the Iron Hand succeeded in making such a weapon, they could be unstoppable.

It was one of these prisoners (an imprisoned traveler) who alerted us about the dangerous plans the Iron Hands had and how dangerous that weapon would be if they got to use it. The power of the new weapon would rival all others, and the wielder could destroy all those who attempt to stand against them. With this weapon, the Iron Hands could take over the kingdoms and establish a permanent Iron Hands ruling.

This is why the Iron Hands attacked the Asmodi. They knew the Asmodi would oversee their wicked plans and attempt to intervene. And, by gaining the power to use the Asmodi eyes, they have been able to travel, hide, and go where needed to build this awfully powerful weapon.

To defeat the Iron Hands and destroy their evil pursuits for power, the community counted with the help of not just the Ern-Aaron and Kid Smith but also the 4th prisoner known as Sulfium. He didn't know anything about weapon-making, but he knew about handling crystals and the crystals were needed for the weapons the Iron Hands were making. With the help of Sulfium, we were able to sabotage thousands of crystals from the Iron hands stock and make them unstable for usage.

In the end, people had to travel to the top of the Scribe's Mountain where they could find an Asmodi who was overly concerned about the Sip san weapons being brought to our plane of existence. They helped destroy the unstable Sip san weapons and from those, we were able to form the first batch of Iron hands weapons, the popularly known Flame spears, Featherlight arms, Sulfurule scepters, and Ernlere staff. While these weapons were far from being as powerful as the original design by the Iron Hands, they are powerful enough to have reshaped the hunting experience for all paths, but mostly for warriors and rogues, becoming a must-have weapon set.

However, the first attempt to stop the Iron Hands from pursuing these weapons wasn't the last. There were at least two more situations when the community had to fight off the Iron Hands in these attempts to create ultra-powerful weapons again. The third confront was back in Hyul 89 and the fourth confront against the Iron Hands was back in Hyul 106 when the Iron Dungeon was finally destroyed.

The Iron Fort and the Unearthed Nightmarish Creatures (2020)
After 9 Hyuls since the destruction of the Iron Dungeon, the community discovered a new base of operations by the Iron Hands.

Located at southwest of the Wilderness near the Wilderness Graveyard, the Iron Hands seem to have built a Fort in an area surrounding some ancient graves. They began stealing items and weapons from the graves, but accidentally seem to have unleashed some wicked angry wraiths.

Concerned with the dangers of those nature abominations, some Iron Hands rebelled against the leadership, but their mutiny failed, and they ended locked up in the Cells of the Iron Fort.

While then hundreds of Iron troopers and raiders continue roaming the Fort clueless of what to to next since their leadership is nowhere to be found. The only of among the leaders of the Iron Hands that was seen so far was Hacquin, who TigerRyu was able to spot during the first day their new hideout was discovered.

Currently, the community is fighting to stop the Iron Hands from defiling more ancient graves, to fend off the dangerous enmities from infesting our plane of existence, and amidst all that, there's also a little girl that needs to be saved along with her talking teddy bear. Will we succeed in defeating the Iron Hands once more? Time will tell!

Woodlands Diary Quest Page 4 Formula
Posted by: Vini -- 11:10 PM EST

Eureka! The formula of the Woodlands Diary Quest page 4 have finally been discovered for both the stolen and the original pages. The new set of tier 2 combos was announced yesterday by the long time scholar of the Woodlands quest, Marauder Name.

Behold the Boxed Garnet Gloves and Boxed Bijou Gauntlet formulas:
  • To get Boxed Garnet Gloves use the creation system (shift+i) to combine a Stolen diary page 4 with the following items:

    Plate of metal (24)

    Lightly stitched shell (10)

    Focused fire amber (10)

    Winter potion (12)

    Well ctfd wt amber (5)

    Yellow amber (10)

    Amber (20)

    Tao stone (2)

  • To get Boxed Bijou Gauntlet use the creation system (shift+i) to combine a Original diary page 4 with the following items:

    Plate of metal (24)

    Lightly stitched shell (20)

    Focused fire amber (10)

    Winter potion (12)

    Well ctfd wt amber (10)

    Yellow amber (20)

    Amber (40)

    Tao stone (2)

After years researching the Woodlands quest and several hints given out throughout many years, the discovered intercepted messages between two iron hands members were decisive in finally getting the formula solved. Not a coincidence, the Iron Hands seemed to have been researching how to make the gloves portion of the quest.

Currently the community has discovered Garnet footguards and boxed gauntlet gloves coming from stolen diary page 1 and stolen diary page 4. The original diary page 1 and original diary page 4 are part of the formula to create Bijou Boots and Boxed Bijou Gloves. Therefore, it's safe to assume that stolen pages set will be completed with 6 garnet armor pieces and diary page will be completed with 6 bijou armor pieces.

A big congratulations to all who helped with this discovery. This quest is the longest lasting community effort shared by many generations of Nexus people. Congratulations to Marauder Name on his discovery and fruit of a long-lasting persistence.

Are the Iron Hands doing the Woodlands Diary Quest?
Posted by: Vini -- 1:25 AM EST

A different set of items has also been discovered as treasures from the Iron Hands. People have been finding some notes in the chests which seems to be two people talking about their discoveries for the Woodlands Diary quest.

Marauder Name, the mastermind quest-solver behind the woodlandstk.com has gathered the notes with the help of multiple people and is trying to figure out what may be coming of them.

So far, 6 notes have been discovered (we're expecting there are 4 or 5 from each):

    Melgis papers:

  • Hint: two dozen pieces of metal = 24 plates of metal?

  • Hint: a shell per finger = 10 or 20 lightly stitched shells?

  • Hint: a brace of stones = 2 tao stones? Marauder Name found out that "brace" means pair.

  • Hint: 5-10-20. Just double them. No clue on what this can mean. Any ideas? Marauder Name thinks it can be related to the required ambers. The quest tier 2 requires regular ambers (stacks at 100), well crafted ambers (stacks at 100), yellow ambers (stacks at 20), white ambers (stacks at 20), and well crafted white ambers (stacks at 20).

    Hacquin papers:

  • Hint: Stack of focused fire amber = 10 focused fire ambers? Marauder Name confirmed the Focused fire ambers stack at 10 (not to be confused with Flame ambers).

  • Hint: A dozen vials = 12 ruby potion or 12 winter potion? Multiple people confirmed elixir war gives 12 as prize. Tako ink stacks at 10 and Ink didn't stack back when this quest was created. Only these options are kept in vials.

If you find any other papers with clues please share to Marauder Name. He is offering 1,000,000 to people who obtain are the first to send any other pages besides these.

If you have ideas of what these hints can mean please post your findings on the community board.

Iron Hands & Unleashed Horrors mobs and drops
Posted by: Vini -- 2:30 PM EST

In the first three rooms (Pylon Walk, Pylon Fold, and Fire Terminate) you'll find Looted spirits. They're not tiered monsters, but can cause some headache if you're not careful. They do not drop anything.

In this cave there are three types of Iron Hands mercenaries to fight against. These are tiered and are spread through the first area of the Iron Hands Fort (Iron Nightmare, Iron Passage, Cell Corridor, and Cell Enclave).

    Iron trooper

    Iron raider

    Iron claw
    Drops:
    Stolen ruby
    Pottery pieces
    Drops:
    Stolen emerald
    Stolen sapphire
    Drops:
    Stolen emerald
    Stolen sapphire

When you finally finish the quest and get the Iron pass, you'll gain access to the main hunting area: the two large rooms called Iron Horror and Iron Fright. There you'll find the horrors the Iron Hands accidentally unleashed: the wraith enmities. There are two regular enmities and a boss.

    Unearthed enmity

    Phantom enmity (boss)

    Disturbed enmity
    Very rarely drops:
    Cache key
    Boss drops:
    Cache key
    Very rarely drops:
    Cache key

When you get a cache key you may go back to the Iron cache and open one of the chests there. Remember you'll need your Iron pass to go there and not get hit by the poisonous iron spikes on the floor.

The treasures you'll find by opening one of the four chests seem to be random. So far, there has been no conclusion on whether there is more chance of a prize in one or another chest.

  • Dark amber

  • Bringer's gift

  • Forsaken staff

  • Forsaken blade

  • Forsaken ring

  • Sun armors (warrior, rogue, mage, poet)

  • Leveled Iron Hands weapons (Flame spear, Featherlight arm, Sulfurule Scepter, Ernlere Staff)

  • Leveled Iron Hands' hand items(overseer eye, Iron hand)

  • Brutal shank

  • Vicious shank (new)

If you obtained any cached treasure that isn't listed here please inform one of the Nexus Atlas staff.

Here is how the new Vicious shank looks and the stats.

Special thanks to Tain for modeling for this.

Note: Some people contacted me saying they also got "Asmodi weapons" from this event. When I asked the name they were actually referring to the Iron Hands weapons. Asmodi weapons and Iron Hands weapons are not the same thing.

Asmodi weapons are small black daggers given out by Asmodi in the 2013 when we helped free the Asmodis from from the Iron Hands. The Iron hands weapons (flame spear, featherlight arm, etc.) were given out in 2016 in the second event involving Iron Hands, during which there was barely any Asmodi involvement. This is the third event involving Iron Hands and has no Asmodi involvement.
