    Pirate Shields Walkthrough
Posted by: Vini -- 3:15 PM EST

Like previous pirate events, shields have returned in this event. There are very few steps to infuse the pirate shields, but beware - collecting the items can take quite a long time.

To create a pirate shield you'll need to collect colored crystals from the Pirate Mine. To do that you must already have access to the pirate island and access to the pirate cove, which requires having a pirate badge. The main pirate walkthrough will cover this.

The quickest way to the Pirate Crystal Mines is to return to the Pirate Cove Dungeon, immediately before you used the Climbing Claws to enter the Treasure Room.

This time, when entering the pirate cove dungeon, instead of heading to the top right to climb up, head to the bottom left. You'll be sent outside the cell. From here, you can walk to the middle bottom and exit, and you'll arrive in the Pirate Crystal Mines.

To create a shield, three types of items are needed, all of the same color. The items drop from the creatures located in the Pirate Crystal Mines.

    Ten colors exist:
Red, Jade, Black, Blue, Golden, Purple, Pink, White, Frost, Copper.

    The items:
    1) -color- Gem Receptor

    2) -color- Gem Recipe

    3) 200x -color- Crystal

Once you have the required items, seek out Yanfai in the first room of the island.

Speak the color which you wish him to craft. He will take the items and craft the shield for you.

Once you've crafted one shield, you cannot craft another shield during this event.

    Pirate Boss Drops
Posted by: Vini -- 9:10 AM EST

With the Pirate invasion happening in Nagnang, there has also been a rush for slaying the Bonebreaker Lieutenants at the top deck of The Demolisher or at the Pirate Cove Lodge in Sambong Island. That's because as the boss of the event, they have been dropping some unique items that lead to unique treasures. Here is the list of the drops confirmed so far:

  • Bottled messages:

A set of bottled messages exchanged between the pirates, which contain clues to the Woodlands Diary Quest.

  • Sea Melodies:

A never seen before usable item, similar to Sea poems, but with 74 pages instead of 64 pages. It restores 1200 mana instead of 500.

  • Pirate booty:

A fancy chest containing Ilbon treasures. When you open it gives either an Ilbon knife or fancy ilbon coats such as "Fancy ilbon outfit" and "Fancy ilbon suit".

  • Little red box:

A red chest containing Pirate clothing. When you open it gives either Tattered Ilbon coats such as "Tattered ilbon outfit" and "Tattered ilbon suit" or Seafarer coats such as "Seafarer tunic" and "Seafarer gown".

  • Captain's key:

The Lieutenant seems to guard the key to the chest in the Captain's room. If you come ahold of a Captain's key, take it to the Captain's room at the stern of the ship, on the top level. There is a chest there if you open it you'll find a new weapon appropriated to your path and level.

Pirates at Nagnang Coastline, Treasury Robbed
Posted by: Ferro -- 6:14 AM EST

Overnight players noticed the appearance of a merchant ship at the Eung Docks in Nagnang.

Other sightings include a strange NPC near a tent to the east of Eung Docks.

Lastly pirates were seen wandering along the shoreline.

Update: I discovered that there is a new NPC in the West Wing of the Nagnang Palace.

Furthermore a brief look inside the Treasury reveals that it is totally barren.

Why are they here? While we still do not have an official explanation, the available evidence suggests that the pirates have robbed the treasury. Again we will keep you posted as information becomes available. Special thanks to Twist for the initial discovery of the pirates.

    Nexus Atlas Availability - UPDATE
Posted by: Ferro -- 2:45 AM EST

I have patched up most of Nexus Atlas to work with PHP 7.4. I wasn't sure how hard it would or how long it would take but it is should now be ready for the forced upgrade in early March. Nexus Atlas is now running on PHP 7.4 and I am also monitoring our error logs to see if I missed anything else that needs to be fixed.

We still need to transition to a new foundation but this should buy us more time to make that happen. We have not fully decided how that will all happen yet because we are still figuring out. I am currently working with some developers more experienced than myself with this area to develop a solution that will hopefully keep us relevant for years to come. Thank you for your patience.

    Nexus Atlas Availability
Posted by: Ferro -- 3:59 AM EST

Greetings NexusAtlas users. I am currently the main head of development for NexusAtlas. I am here today to discuss an important issue that may impact the availability of NexusAtlas.

Recently I became aware of our web host's timeline for the removal of PHP5 as an option. In early March of this year they will be removing it entirely. NexusAtlas is dependent on features that are not provided in the new version of PHP7 that we are being forced to upgrade to. What this means is that NexusAtlas will cease to function correctly after this has occurred.

Obviously this presents a problem for our service availability but we are also facing another problem that has been years in the making. The original foundation of NexusAtlas has become a limiting factor in more ways than I can count. So we also need to transition the existing content to a new foundation that will hopefully serve us and you, our users, better in the years to come. We can no longer continue to kick the can down the road and must finally pay the piper if NexusAtlas is to remain relevant.

We are currently working on possible solutions to the problems outlined here but there may be service or content availability issues in the meantime. We ask that you try to be understanding while this is going on. Thank you.

P.S. If you are not already part of the staff for NexusAtlas and would like to contribute to solving this dilemma then please contact me in game.

Early February and the community unifies in Checker Board Fashion
Posted by: AznCloudBoi -- 1:55 PM EST

This afternoon, the community couldn't keep their obsessive-compulsive disorder down standing at west gate Kugnae. While practicing social distancing, many people started to form in a checker board fashion. Next thing you know, a spontaneous gathering occurred and everyone danced.
