Diviner Ritual of Sealing
Posted by: Maron -- 12:58 AM EST

Hey folks!
It was announced earlier this week by Visionary Celindon that a "Ritual of Sealing" would take place, as read from her Community Events board post:

It has come time for us to use the items we collected so many moons ago to seal the rift that was caused by Miaoxin in her attempt to bring forth the King of Gamangnara. We ask the community to be in attendance to provide strength during this ritual.

Where: Tao Te Ching
When: 8/29 - 7PM EST

((All participants and witnesses will receive:

A Random Tarot Card
A "Witness of Ritual" legend mark (this mark now "adds"
so you can receive more than one).

Three random individuals will be chosen to receive door
prizes:

1 Tarot Deck
1 I-Ching Reading (RP still required)
1 Free Zodiac (RP still required) ))

Signed,

Celindon
Visionary
Mage Tutor
Mystic Dark Mi-Rae

This specifically occurred in Hsien Courtyard, a sort of inner sanctum of the Diviner area, and a "central location of power, for a ritual called Gyeonggi-do Dodanggut" that promises protection for the future.

As many witnesses were settling around the circle, Celindon reminded those gathered that, a few moons ago, the Divine Order received visions and premonitions of a great evil. This started a quest by which the Wudang Quan and volunteers adventured among Forest Mantis, Hamgyong Ogres, Sandy Lobsters, and Arctic Ogres to discover four objects responsible for siphoning, storing, and sending magic. Dark Mistress Miaoxin was using them to tear a veil between worlds and bring forth the King of Gamangnara. Taking the magical objects, and completing this ritual, would thwart Miaoxin's quest of inviting overwhelming darkness to our lands.

To initiate the ritual, Muse Minaj performed a dance upon two of her great drums at the center.

Then, with Diviner Elder SSaiYen as a living conduit, Xing-Yi Scual assisted Celindon in calling for the aid of the totem gods.

Just as it seemed to be going well, Miaoxin intruded with dark magic that brought Gargoyles from the dark realm!

However, while heroes of the assembly fought back the fiends, the totem gods answered the call and created an opportunity to expel Miaoxin and the dark forces.

With order restored (for now), a randomly selected few received Tarot Deck, I-Ching and Ba-Gua readings (information available on Event Winners Board). Others were granted "Witnessed a Ritual of Divinity" mark and tarot cards.

Lost Kingdom - Found Primogen? We say Nay!
Posted by: Barter -- 4:59 PM EST

There has been a couple of leadership changes in recent history that we'd like to mention. NayPoet, the lovely lady from Pegasus clan, stands proudly as their new Primogen. When asked what she thought of all this, NayPoet stated: "I tend to go extra, because Pegasus is an extra special place to me. It even drives me to strive to be extra extra."

The Lost Kingdom welcomes a new Primogen as LadyPhoenix takes the helm. Regarding this transition, she shares with us, "I am so excited to become Lost Kingdom's Clan newest Primogen! This will give me the opportunity to serve the people of my Clan, the nation of Buya, and the entire Kingdom. Hail Buya, shining jewel of the East!"

Thank you for your service, both LadyPhoenix and NayPoet. May both of your clans and nations prosper with your leadership.

New Elected Diviner Elder
Posted by: Vini -- 6:28 PM EST

After a few weeks on lockdown, the Diviner subpath just came out of their first eldership election as today the result of the votes was announced: SSaiYen was chosen by the majority to take the mantle of Diviner Elder.

SSaiYen has been a Diviner for a very long time. His journey began back in Yuri 28 and his first guideship began in Yuri 30 under Sarina. Around Yuri 34 he left the kingdoms unexpectedly for quite some time and returned years later to the Divine Order and about three Hyuls ago ascended for his second guideship. He also serves the kingdom of Koguryo as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"I will do my best to lead forward this path that I love with the respect and empathy it deserves", said SSaiYen while he realizes the weight of the responsibility trusted upon him. "We'll work together to set us back in the right track", he concluded.

Nexus Atlas congratulates Elder SSaiYen on his election and wishes him good luck on his new position!

Be succinct when using this, go straight to the point that is causing issue. This isn't a chat. Do not use this ask if Immortals are around. Using report to ask if archons are around will not help you get a response. If it is not urgent, contact the Immortals through mail instead.

Various other changes have taken place. Some we choose to leave for you to find out and others yet to be reported. Please contact me if you have discovered any updates that could be added to this list. Clan updates and private subpath changes shall remain off this list for now.

How-to Identify Plagued Commoners
Posted by: Bunker -- 11:50 AM EST

Note:You do NOT need to have the Saving Lives portion of the quest done in order to Cure Commoners. But, you will only receive the Cape reward once you have all 5 steps complete. You must speak with Sanyang before you can do this step.

Sanyang's Cure
After the Sonhi camp was discovered overrun by Zibong, an old man by the name of Sanyang appeared within sight of the Northern Gates of Mythic Nexus. He speaks of a Five-step plan to overcome the plague of evil spirits. This guide will focus on the last step, healing the Commoners.

[click image to see full details]

Sanyang tells us;
"We need to help heal the commoners who have been plagued by Zibong, but haven't been transformed yet. I heard of a rose balsam that can help ward off spirits and diseases. If you offer them to a plagued commoner it can help them too."

The Bongseonhwa Flower
To obtain the balsam that Sanyang speaks of, travel to the Druid's Sacred Grove in the Wilderness (( 169/214 )) and enter the back room named the Silent Glade. Speak with Willow, and she will offer you Bongseonghwa flowers for 1,800 each. You can carry (20) at once. This is what you will offer a sick Commoner when you come across them.

How to Identify the Sick?
No matter the trade or geographical location, we can identify Commoners who can be healed with the Bongseonhwa by following a few guidelines. Let us categorize the commoners into three basic groups to help us distinguish the ones who can be healed.

The Good

These Commoners tend to wonder around the Kingdoms and can be observed saying some quite interesting things. They pose no immediate threat and when provoked will quickly run for cover. They have been documented saying the following phrases;

"Oh, my love! Where are you?"

"What's so special about West Gate Kugnae?"

"When is the bonus elixir war?"

"Hard work pays off!"

"Help! I was talking to my friends and they transformed into ghosts!"

"Armies should do more patrols to protect us."

"Where do you get the mods? Who's WoonSoo?"

"I'm no Diviner but I've been having bad omens lately."

"A Geomancer told me I should work on my relationships. I wonder why."

"One day I want to be as rich as a Magnate."

"Sometimes I feel like I'm being watched by someone from above."

"Why are there so many clans named after animals?"

"Work, work."

"Let's move on before the ground opens up and swallows us."

"This is really a nice town. I'd like to move here."

"This place is confusing. Where do I get a map?"

"I like big boats, I cannot lie."

"I really hope nothing happens to this beautiful place.."

"Why won't Muses hold plays in the theaters anymore?"

"How were people mining sun armors out of the ground? Who drops those?"

"Help! A Zibong just whispered me!"

"I know they left that Sevenleaf sword around here somewhere."

"I feel like someone is constantly spying on me."

The Bad

From quite a distance away, you can observe these ones quietly creeping towards you. Their minds possessed by the evil Zibong. They will attack even if not provoked. Unfortunately, you cannot save these ones. If you attack them however, the Commoner will melt away to reveal the Scout Zibong who had been lurking inside this poor soul. This Zibong is extra fiendish, and will summon you back to it while blinding you if you leave the area. You will need a Shaman Charm to destroy it.

The Ugly
To find the Possessed ones that will accept your offering of the Bongseonhwa as healing, ask say out-loud "This will make you feel better" and observe the Commoners reaction. If the Commoner stops dead in their tracks, as if battling inner demons, you have found a likely candidate for the cure.

Remember, not all the commoners can be healed. Only the ones who show the signs of the illness but have not lost their grasp on reality. The ones who are sick have been observed saying the following phrases around the Kingdoms;

"I can hear voices in my head."

"I don't feel well."

"I need a healer."

"My head hurts!"

"I'm seeking a scholar of healing items. Can anyone help?"

"I reserve my right to not wear a Shaman charm."

Offering the Cure
Now that you've found a prime candidate, it's time to cure them. Say the phrase "This will make you feel better" and DROP your Bongseonhwa on the ground near your patient.

The possessed Commoner will walk over to you and pickup the Boongseonhwa and consume it. They will thank you before heading back home to rest. Make sure to not stand over your offering as this will prevent them from picking it up, and they'll let you know about it!

Note that you can keep track of how many are saved as seen here;

Oceana Clan Elects Next Primogen
Posted by: Bunker -- 3:25 AM EST

The votes are in and the Oceana Clan has elected their next Primogen; Almalexian.

Almalexian provided this quote for us;
"Today, the results of the Primogen Vote were released, and I came out with the majority. The lockdown was very bitter sweet, but knowing that the clan was able to choose the direction they wanted to take is always a bonus. I am happy the clan is able to move on into this next chapter of our wonderful history."

Congratulations to her on a triumphant return to the wheelhouse. May the winds be always at your back and your bow pointed to the waves.

Zibong Survival Guide

How to Kill That Which Has No Life...
A Guide to the Shaman Charm

So, you've found yourself surrounded by relentless Zibong Stalkers who just can't get enough of you eh? Well, we've got you covered! Here are some tips that shall help you to overcome the pesky ghosts.

What are these things, what's going on??
If you're new to the Kingdom or have been asleep for some-time, you may not know what you're dealing with. You can read the previous news to get the details but the short story is; Evil spirits are spreading throughout our Kingdom!

You've got two or more options here. One, you can stay away from the danger zones and relax inside until the Zibong dissipate. Or two, you can go out looking for a fight. In any case, you're going to need to know a few things.

Rule number one: If you are under attack, your Zibong has to be killed for you to be left alone. Or else, it will summon you as you try and run away. You need a Shaman Charm!

The Shaman Charm
This is your main weapon against Zibong Stalkers and Scouts. Find one and put it in your bag. Store extra with the Bankers so that you always have one handy!

Note: These fall on the ground when you die or fall asleep, so make sure you keep some with the Bankers!

Your fury or weapon makes little difference with the spirits when compared to the Charms influence. Without it, you will find it's extremely hard to dispatch the Zibongs, and they will deal a proportionate amount of damage. It has no effect on the Zibong in the Gobi Desert.

How it works is simple. While you hold one in your bag, you'll suffer little to no damage from Zibong Stalkers. With strikes from your fists or sparks from your fingertips you can blow them away. You only need to swing lightly.

How do I get one???
To obtain Shaman Charms, travel to the Eastern gates of Nagnang and enter the Palingenesis ((128, 093)) and speak with the High Mudang to purchase one. It will cost you 3,000 Gold each and you can carry no more than ten at once.

Note: you only need one, having more does not affect its potency.

How to stay safe
Once you get a Shaman charm you'll probably notice that it drops from your inventory if you fall in battle or if you leave the kingdoms ((log out)). Do you need to keep buying more of them? No! Just buy 1, deposit it and whenever a Stalker Zibong or a Scout Zibong starts targeting you, go quickly to your home or the inns and withdraw it from the bank. You don't need to have this item all the time in the inventory, keep it safe in your bank and only wear it when you're under attack. It will make your attacks/zaps against the Zibong much more effective and their attacks against you much weaker.

Don't be afraid to ask for help!
If your insight is too low or you're just getting blasted, call people for help! The easiest thing to do is use Gateway and yell for somebody with a Shaman Charm to come running. Odds are you'll get help soon.

If you are way too low, use /novice to contact others for help. If you're in a clan, drop some right at the doorway so folks can use a Kindred talisman and grab it quickly. Just remember you don't have to suffer alone. Ask for help!

The Zibong Attack of Hyul, 113
Posted by: Bunker -- 10:55 AM EST

Good day folks, Bunker here!

I recently joined the Nexus Atlas team to offer help with information gathering, news reporting and database editing. For those of you who don't know me, I care deeply about our special community and try my hardest to pay-it-forward the best way I know how. So here I am.

My focuses will be directed towards correcting obsolete information in our Handbooks, providing useful guides and reporting on current events. With the overall goal to help the ones who need it, when they need it.

I can't do this alone though and require your input! If you feel that you have any relevant information don't hesitate to send me a note. You have my ear.

Never forget teamwork makes the dream-work!

To help get everybody get on the same page, here is a summary of the Zibong events I have documented thus far;

Phase One: The Spirits Are Watching (Zibong Scouts)

From the shadows they watched us, observing our interactions and learning our weaknesses. Several Zibong scouts where discovered concealed within the walls of Kugnae and were quickly dispatched after shouts for help echoed Kingdom-wide. The Scouts did not pose much of a threat however, once discovered they made a futile attempt to defend themselves.

Undoubtedly some of the Scouts made it back to report what they've encountered during the storms and it was too late for us to stop what had begun. Fortunately, some folks discovered Sonhi talismans in the ashes of the Zibong scouts that would lead us to the source of this bane, Jieut and KaKhan.

Phase Two: The Perfect Time to Strike (Zibong Stalkers)

They struck when the clouds broke in the morning. Stalking us with devious intent. Entering our minds and corrupting our thoughts, whispering ominous words. The Zibong Stalkers grew confident as they approached. Many perished during the assault as they had been caught off-guard.

At first we struggled. Many thought the Zibong where immortal however this was found not to be the case. The foe was simply incredibly strong. Some Rogues managed to destroy the spirits by trapping them in a storm of blades and some took refuge indoors to escape the spirit raids.

It wasn't until the Shaman Mages had time to complete their research on a Charm to aid, that the citizens managed to get the Zibong attackers under control. The spirits seem to fear the Shaman Charm as if it causes them great agony. Even when held in your pocket its impact on Zibong Stalkers extremely effective. With a few swipes of your hand you can swat the spirit away like a common house-fly, while negating nearly all damage.

If you find yourself haunted by a spirit you may want to seek out a Shaman who can assist you. Or, travel to Nagnang and visit the Valley of the Mudang and speak with the High Shaman to purchase your own Shaman Charm.

Be warned though, the Charms magic is mysterious. If you fall asleep you risk losing connection with the Shaman Charm and you may find it on the ground when you wake up. If it hasn't been yanked.

Luckily, local bankers have a special storage device for these kinds of objects and they've agreed to hold onto them. Many members of the community have to come together and I must commend them for it. Only by working together will we overcome this blight.

Phase Three: Our Scouts Strike Back (Aprok Village)

Our heroes followed the trail though the south of KaMings Encampment along the Forbidden Route and beyond the Forgotten Road then past the Sonhi Gorge to reach the Aprok Village. They reported KaMing was requesting help from inside the Chief's House.

KaMing advised us that his brother KaKhan was in cahoots with a Necromancer named Jieut. Together they have summoned the Zibong to execute some insane plan. KaMing seemed very apprehensive to ask for help. Given our history, this is understandable but he suggests must band together to overcome our common enemy.

After speaking with KaMing and his Sonhi High Shaman, many are issued KaMing passes that allowed adventurers who where brave enough to pass the lone Sonhi Guard to the west.

Phase Four: The Long Road (Reached the Sonhi Desert Camp)

Wishing to locate KaRim and offer aid to the Sonhi people, our heroes ventured deeper. Some resting at the Eastern Sonhi Garrison, sitting by the crackling fire and speaking with the Garrison Hostler about his Garrison Talisman or his mighty Sonhi Steeds.

He advises, bringing Water Jugs to the Desert would be a wise decision. Luckily, most of the Woodworkers within the Kingdoms are skilled enough to create Water Jugs appropriate for the journey. But don't expect them to fill them with water for you.

Others traveled through the Desert Steppe Passage along the trail, following the hoofmarks in the windblown sands of the East Gobi Desert Steppe proved to be rather challenging. Folks who could navigate using Maps Reached the Sonhi Desert Camp with ease, while others chose to explore the sandy dunes discovering new and interesting creatures.

Those who went North East in the Desert, found Gobi Gypsy Wife searching for supplies to aid the Sonhi Camp. Last seen holding a large mallet and wearing a pink and brown hoodie. Asking anybody who spoke, to please stay out of her way and allow her to collect resources to help the Sonhi people.

She could be overheard talking about her husband, concerned that he may die of dehydration soon and asking; "What can be so important that my husband has been searching for days?"

It was said that a lone Gobi Gypsy Husband was spotted walking in the East Gobi Desert Steppe and he had been muttering to himself about old HaggardWitch saying: "I must where the HaggardWitch has hidden her piece before KaKhan does" while he asks for Water.

Phase Five: Zibong Infested Sonhi (Beyond the Camp)

Reports from the spearhead slowly began to trickle back to all the Kingdoms as the injured returned home. The few who ventured past the Sonhi Camp would soon find themselves enthralled by a sea of infected Sonhi Villagers and masses of Zibong.

It was clear that the Plague was running rampant among the Sonhi Villagers, but few knew how to stop it. The Communities started generating information. Keeping records of new discoveries and sharing this new knowledge among themselves.

Armed with wisdom, some developed effective training strategies and would seek to gain combat experience with this ancient foe. Some went for the treasure, rumored to be found near the remains of fallen Zibong.

Others focused their intentions on Supplying Aid to the Sonhi before things became worse. As some speculated that perhaps the Commoners who walk the Kingdoms could soon fall ill with this deadly plague. One thing was agreed on, things were going to get worse before getting better.

Thank you to all who have contributed information and helped within the community. Keep your eyes and ears open and let us know if you notice anything relevant. We will be updating this as things progress.

The Zibong Plague Spreads!
Posted by: theSavior -- 4:26 AM EST

Some of the commoners that have recently been touring our Kingdoms have become inflicted by illness and the Zibong have possessed them! Luckily for us Sanyang of the Dark Hunters Guild has appeared at North Gate Mythic to guide us in helping repel the Zibong invasion.

BOARD TITLE: Whispering winds
FROM: NexusTK DATE: 8/9
SUBJECT: Zibong Plague
The Zibong plague has reached the kingdoms. After weeks trying to contain the spread from leaving the Sonhi Desert Camp, there's now confirmation that many commoners dwelling in the cities and the wilderness have been plagued by the Zibongs.

The Dark Hunters Guild found a way to prevent the infected from being transformed but for some people, they already reached a point of no return. Can Sanyang and his people help save the community in time and end the turmoil that KaKhan and Jieut started or will the plague keep spreading throughout the kingdoms?

We last saw Sanyang when we saved him from outside the Frozen Fortress of the Stygian Order in a rescue mission led by Buya's Queen Lasahn. If you wish to know more about saving the commoners and perhaps getting a nice reward from the Dark Hunters Guild, go speak with him!

1) Speak with Sanyang at North Mythic (a little to the West of the gate)
2) Sanyang says that if you complete all of the following 5 tasks, return to him and he will recognize you with one of the Dark Hunters Guild cloaks! :
  • Supply Aid to the Sonhi (walkthrough below)

  • Save 10 lives from the Zibong plague (walkthrough below)

  • Get a Shaman Charm and Soul safeguard (walkthrough below)

  • Slay 20 Plaguing Zibong: Some commoners will now become hostile and attack you, if you attack them back a few times they will reveal themselves to be Zibong. You need a Shaman charm and once you kill them it will increase a counter in your status box for "Slained X plaguing Zibongs." WARNING: They will summon you back if you don't kill! From across Kingdoms even! Make sure you get a Shaman Charm! They can be purchased in the north portal of the Shaman home at East Nagnang

  • Help heal 20 commoners: To do this you will need to visit the Silent Glade in the Druid's home in the South Wilderness (right outside Kugnae's north gate). Speak with Willow about the "Bongseonhwa flower" and purchase 20 from her. To use the Bongseonhwa, drop it by Commoners and say "This will make you feel better". They will pick it up, thank you, and a counter will increase in your status box for "Rescued X plagued commoners." You can also hand the Bongseonhwa to them directly. Only certain commoners are sick. The best method is to drop the Bongseonhwa, say the phrase, and see if any of the commoners immediately run over to you begging for you to get off the flower! Otherwise, you will see them complaining about feeling sick or being watched - those are the ones that need healing!
3) Return to Sanyang and continue through the discussion with him again. If you have completed everything to help save the commoners, you will receive a new item and a legend mark!

I've put a spoiler button for now of what lies at the completion of the event, so if you want to complete it first for yourself don't click this button!

Thank you to Nobrows, DeeSwyfticus, TwitchUser, TigerRyu, SaRita, and Arkanis for helping solve various portions along with me!

See something I've missed? Let me know and we'll adjust!
