To start a lesser alliance with Dragon, say the word "Horse" to the NPC because Horse is the enemy of Dragon. To start a greater alliance say the word "Greater". If you have already allied with the Dragon, saying Dog will cause the NPC to cast rebirth on you for a full restoration of statistics. If you have made an alliance with the enemy and say the enemy's name, the NPC will cast a spell against you which usually results in your death.
